Evoke.Emotions has been taking the poetry world head on for just under four years now.And in that amount of time she has garnered quite a reputation for being a captivating and driven performance poet.She has hit the stage in various locations including Alabama,Texas,Maryland,Virginia,North Carolina,New York,and New Orleans while volunteering for "Katrina on The Ground".She has been featured in a "Furious Flower" produced play entitled "Blossom in the Whirldwind" in honor of Pullitzer Prize Winning Poet Gwendolyn Brooks.She has hosted Nikki Giovanni at James Madison University (her Alma Mater), for the anniversary performance of her groundbreaking album "Truth Is On It's Way", opened up for the "HBO Def Poetry Jam Tour",Former Individual Slam Champion and Def Poet Alumni Maya del Valle,"The Iron Rose Tour","Vagina Monologues",Jamaican poet and critic Mervyn Morris,just to name a few.In 2006 Evoke.Emotions was on a team that came in 4th in the nation at the ACUI College Unions Poetry Slam Invitational.The team included fellow poets Brittany Brooks,Bluz,and Jared Singer.She somehow found the time to travel, perform,and do community activism..while also recording a spoken word/hip-hop cd with rhyme partner artist "Sima Lee" entitled "Sankofa Griottes" .In 2008 she is working on material for her first book.
