About Me
As the CEO of illgore Records, Co-CEO of Faculty Entertainment, and Engineer/Producer of ACG Music/Entertainment, Hack is a busy individual. He fell in love with hip hop after he bought his first rap album, Planet Rock. From that point on, hip hop has been a major part of his life. In 1994, he joined with his brother, Lovejoy, and became the Naddy Heads. Shortly afterwards, the group expanded and was renamed Tyfu. With Hack as executive producer, Tyfu became a major part of the NC Hip Hop Movement under the illgore record label. It was during this time that Hack began perfecting his beat making skills, becoming proficient with classic production tools, such as the SP-1200, ASR-X Pro, and the MPC 2000. Tyfu became an instant favorite in the Chapel Hill/UNC-CH community, and released the locally acclaimed album, Spinfinity. For a short time in 1999-2000, Tyfu was signed to Mammoth Records of Chapel Hill, NC, under which they dropped their second album, Out of Control. During this time, the group also worked on a special project with Tash (Alcoholics) and was featured on a national TV show, Hip Hop Nation. Besides being a versatile producer, engineer, and mix master, Hacks talents have expanded to work on projects such as producing music for TV commercials for the UPN Network and specializing in studio design.
