glitter-graphics.comQuotes by me: "Respect Others and Be yourself !!!!!" "Don't let pain blind you of the beauty in life. It's all around us. We must Choose to see it." My name is Joan. I'm 20 years old. I love my life as a wife and mother. I'm just me and unique...Read on to get to know me better... What's important to me is loving God and treating others good & with respect. I know it's important to love everyone. I try. I became a believer in Jesus at age 16. There was a Bible going unused in my former home. I started reading it, since I believed in God, but didn't know Him. I had heard about Jesus through church, but I was wondering who He was for myself. I found the answers I needed and came to know Jesus from then on. I came to rely on God and my faith in Him and the Bible (His promises therein) helped me get through the last few years of living in my abusive home life. Since then for a time I was really into my faith, but fell away the last year and a half or so. I was catholic until I was about 13 or 14. I go to a Baptist Church now. I have been going to the same one since after I was 16. I would say some of my beliefs are similar. I wouldn't really label my self a Baptist, though. I prefer to read the Bible for myself and not always go by what everyone else thinks. I believe in thinking for myself. God gave me a brain, might as well use it. : ) I am a firm believer in Christ and know that He can get me through anything and has. My saying is, "No matter how dark things get keep your trust in JESUS. He'll help u through it. Keep positive and don't dwell on the past. Look forward and have no regrets." The way I see my faith is: it's about loving others and God more than anything. It shouldn't be about strict rules or living in fear...etc. Because It's not a religion. I believe God is a lot more forgiving and loving than some say. I'm married to my wonderful husband Mark (JR). We were best friends for seven months before we started dating then got into a serious relationship for 2 years and then got married on Sept 2nd, 2007 (our two year anniversary of being together as a couple.) : ) He is the greatest person on earth in my eyes. He has shown me unconditional love and shown me how to love, for this I thank you, JR. He in a sense rescued me from my mother, gave me the final reason to have a life apart from her. I have learned so much from his example. He is very intelligent, patient and forgiving. He has a great love for others and is always willing to help others out. He has got to be one of the kindest people on earth. He likes children and babies. He loves God and reads the Bible often, actually a lot more than me. He is protective of me and stands up for what he believes in. He has the gift of encouragement and is supportive. He is a soft spoken, very positive and gentle individual. I love having conversation with him, he has some of the most interesting opinions. He is his own person. I love him just the way he is. He is perfect for me. He's my soulmate, lover and my best friend. Might I add, JR is also very sexy as well. lol. He is a very caring and gentle father. We have a newborn son named Draven Damian (as I say: a special name for a special baby). He was born 8/23/08. I find absolute joy in loving and taking care of this beautiful child. He is a true blessing from God and he has changed my life for the better ! I have found absolute joy in being JR's wife and Draven's mother. I believe that is this one of God's great purposes for me. What can I say??? I love my family!!!A few facts about me: 1. I go to exercise class 3 times a week an hour or more at a time, then after wards go for a half hour walk. 2. I think that being in labor, giving birth and the first few days with my baby are some of the most fun and exciting experiences of my life. 3. I usually exercise on the days I don't go to class. 4. I love my husband more than anyone on earth! 5. I enjoy watching love stories with my husband. We normally BOTH end up crying (SERIOUSLY!!!)while watching the following: Titanic, The Notebook, and A Walk to Remember. 6. My husband and I like to drink hot chocolate out of glass mugs with hearts on them (that we got for a dime a piece. lol.) together on cold nights before bed. 6. When I was younger I ran away from home a few times to be with JR. 7. My mother did not approve of JR at all, especially since he was not rich. I stayed with him despite what my mom wanted. We both knew we had found true love. 8. I knew I wanted to marry my husband after a few months of being friends. At that point I could tell he was a decent guy. 9. I was best friends with my husband for 7 months prior to getting into a serious relationship with him. 10. I married my husband after two years of being together and 3 years of knowing each other..I believe in being your own person rather than trying to be a copy of another(human). I strongly dislike that our society objectifies women/men and that the media puts pressure on the American people to look and be a certain way in order to sell products. I dislike it when people judge others by looks or judge those they don't know. I dislike when people judge. PERIOD.I don't think I am better than anyone. We are all human and equal in God's eyes is how I see it. We are all beautiful creations of God. There's no one prettier or better. I don't force my beliefs or personal choices on others but am very open about my love for Christ. I don't drink or do drugs, but I don't judge those who do. I am far from perfect. I have had my struggles. I believe in being honest. I respect others beliefs/opinions and likes/dislikes. I am not someone who looks down on others because they are different from me. I refuse to be the self righteous type, personally, I can't stand the self righteous attitude. I am friendly, outgoing, caring and compassionate. I am pretty easy to please, most of the time and pretty cheery, which can annoy some people. lol. I also am becoming a very positive person as well as more laid back. I try to look for the good in things/people. I believe that everything has it's purpose. I like to laugh and smile. I like to see others happy. I see my clothes as another form of art, so I like to dress expressively and creatively. h I am an open minded individual, but strong in my beliefs/likes. I know who I am and where I stand. I love being original and I greatly appreciate others who are as well. : )

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I never realized how simple it was until I read the Bible for myself at 16. I was amazed that we don't have to go to mass or confession to be saved. We don't have to be perfect for God to love us. I had been going to church on/off as a child and young teen, mainly to Catholic churches. I had always believed that God existed, I just didn't know Jesus personally. I never knew that you could. In the Bible I found all the answers I needed. I came to realize that the Bible existed before the churches, especially the Catholic Church and beliefs. You don't have to always go to church or agree with everything that others preach. What is important is what's in His word. Some preach or believe that you have to be perfect to be saved and know God. God's word says it is by His grace and love for us that we are saved. We just need to have faith. It is not by good works that we are saved. We then can have a relationship with God, Which basically consists of knowing that God loves us, having faith in Him, praying to Him, reading His word, loving the Lord and others. I personally receive joy from personal prayer. Yes, we ourselves can pray to God anytime, no matter what ! We don't have to be a nun to know God. God takes us the way that we are. God will not turn anyone away."Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13 (NIV) God is about love. So, many teach that you have to be perfect to be saved, which is not the case. If everyone was sinless, then why would we need salvation ? The Bible says that everyone of us has sinned. That goes for those who act like everyone else is a terrible sinner and that they are perfect as well. Here is an example of that: The Parable of the Pharisee and Tax Collector LUKE 18:9 Jesus also told this parable to some who were confident that they were righteous and looked down on everyone else (They thought they were better than others and were sinless When in fact that attitude was sinful !).“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee ( a religious man) and the other a dishonest tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed about himself like this: ‘God, I thank you that I am not a sinner like everyone else– like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give a tenth of everything I get.’ The tax collector, however, stood far off and would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, be merciful to me, sinner that I am !’ I tell you that this man went down to his home right before God instead of the Pharisee. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.” The Pharisee glorified himself, while the "sinner" humbled himself before God. We will never be perfect in this lifetime. God never promised we would instantly be sinless after salvation. God has promised us forgiveness through Jesus. Everyone will still sin from time to time even when they are Christians. Salvation is about having faith and eternal life and a daily relationship with God. It's not about going to church every Sunday or putting others down who are not Christian. I believe that God is a lot more forgiving and loving than some seem to teach. Here is a great verse about God's love for us: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35,37-39 (KJV) "FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON(JESUS CHRIST), THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM MAY NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE LIFE EVERLASTING"-JOHN 3:16 De tal manera amó Dios al mundo, que ha dado a su Hijo unigénito, para que todo aquel que en él cree[j] no se pierda,[k] sino que tenga vida eterna.-Juan 3:16 (Reina-Valera 1995)
