About Me

Raw materials transcend their common origins and are manifested in muddy and rather windswept collage. Paraded atop of rickety perches on a rotting platform, ‘the tattered and frayed remains of civilization’ are held together with brightly colored modeling clay and golden yarn Guy ropes. Half-dreamt imagery awash with dark palette water colors, hopes to suggest that there maybe some kind of paradise to be found in the archaic form, somewhere beyond the world outside/around it. Each scene (atop of the perch) is embraced in a crudely cut proscenium arch…in a hope that it will prompt the listless objects into a ‘Fluxus’ of sorts. These un-monumental assemblages (as though choked with debris left from a storm), conjoined form a multilevel palisade looking not unlike a display at a school art show or roadside odditorium. They function as apologues, employing inanimate objects to act out the inherent vices and disputable virtues of art making itself. As someone once said about my artwork " ...there is a suggestion that a kind of paradise may exist in archaic forms, solitary rituals and a fictional landscape, somewhere beyond the world outside it."
