ok ok....i said this would be filled out, but ive been so lazy. uh.....i mean productive...writing new music...yeah... well, let's start with the basics. I'm a 26 year old singer/songwriter/guitarist that should probably be studying right now. However, like most true artists, i procrastinate. i have to stay true, you know? it's an odd story for me, because i would not consider myself a ridiculously impressive school-paper writer. as far as 'book reports' go, i just get the cliff-notes and paraphrase. i mean...i still call them 'book reports' for godsakes! but music is different -- WAY different. humbly speaking, i write well. i just kind of fell into the knack of writing songs. i think it's because i write music kind of the way i talk. i usually get the "youre exactly the same on-stage as off-stage" line. whether that is supposed to be good or bad.....i'm gonna pretend it's good ;) i started playing guitar when i was 17 and 3/4. and since i'm 26 right now, that makes it 8 and 1/4 years of full-blown, rock-out, take-no-shit guitar playing. music to me is my way of expression. i try to write in reflection of my life. i like to mix the good with the bad, the depression with the mania, the happy with the sad, the redundant with the novel.... and i really like it when people can relate and 'feel me.' misery loves company, you know? and without company, i'm just some guy singing to the wall in his basement or in the subway hallway. that's not to say that i dont appreciate the artists in the subway. i do! but, that's what i'd be... and i'd rather sing to a non-passer-by. someone who appreciates me for who i am /sigh.. and not just some face in the crowd /sob.. ok.....so maybe im getting carried away here, but i really dont want to go back to studying. i guess my point is that i want to be a struggling artist, but it's too damn hard! so if you love my music as much as i love singing it, tell me!! :) i love to get feedback -- especially when it's good. i guess thats it for now. i dont know if any of what i wrote made sense, but if you understood me, consider yourself a special minority and say, 'hey!'oh....one more thing.....im looking for an acoustic guitarist, who can solo a bit, and a cello player or violinist to collaborate with. i love to play natural sounding rock. if you dont know what i mean, check out damien rice or john mayer. if you're interested, hit me up!
