.............................What is Amante Acida?
We got together in 2005 with the goal of making fun music to listen
and fly away with. The first crew members of our ship were Edde, Gri,
Gibran and Ye, but a year ago, life joined us with Anna in a small
music practice room. We imagined that we were in the forest. We were
just like kids playing “Star Warsâ€. Since that day we felt that we
talked the same language and that we had so much to say. We created
this rock band with splashes of jazz and son, in a fusion of styles.
We had some changes, and some guys got off the ship. Leon joined the
adventure, and at the end of the process we had four crew members:
Edde (drummer), Ye (bass and electric bass player), Leon (guitar
player) and Anna (vocals). We all had a lot of influences that
evolved in the moment that our band practiced. As a result, we have
songs that sound like blues, jazz, funk, rock, reggae, a little bit
of son and also progressive music. It is better to stop worrying
about what is exactly the style and just enjoy it. At the end of a
songwriting session, it is hard to attribute any part of the song to
someone specific in the band. Amante Acida has trust in each other,
in the way we feel, so we can express it. It is knowing that you are
being understood, that you are following each other, and that they
are following you. That you have respect, and they respect you, it’s
a sublime sensation of complicity that never had to be announce it.
This is a collective impulse, and all the songs have this stamp that
make’s them Amante Acida.
Einstein said that imagination is better than all the knowledge in
the world. We agree and we also believe that music works with
emotions. We are not just trying to make great music, we want to
take your heart through emotions and creativity. There are no limits,
if we can feel it, you can feel it too.
Amante Acida has value because there are four persons that dedicate
almost all their lives and dreams to it, they feed it each day, and
they put into it a great part of their total energy. It is valuable
because they look at it as a way of living, with serious, love and
happiness..............................................

What have we been doing personaly?
YE.- I played with bands like Rojo Congo since 1997 until 2004, with
this band I recorded demos with a great undertaking so we could play
in Rockotitlan alternating with bands like La Castañeda, Los
Quehaceres de Mamá, El Nudo y Zoé. I also participated with this band
in several parties, bars and restaurants.
After that I was the electric bass player in the band Sector Cuatro,
in which we played just a couple of times, but we contacted important
people that move in this sector. Since then, I have been practicing
the bass.
I’m part of the duet of electro-rock-pop Ella es Dulce, with which
we have played in places such as Cuoré café, Monster, several
parties, Rockerias, Piraña Bar, Jaime Sabines culture house, Plastiko
Bar with another band called Lady Bombon and we are going to play in
the flowers festival at San Angel soon, as a part of the collective
“Micoâ€.
With Naxxx (vocal of Ella es dulce) and Chu (guitar and vocal of
Lady Bombon), we formed the collective “Mico†in November of 2006,
with the goal of playing with bands in which we trust and to create
opportunities to gain concerts of quality, supporting each other for
having better opportunities.
Since my first band I provided 80 % support to manage them.

ANNA.- In 1992 I sang in a rock band named Culver, we played in
famous places of Mexico city such as Rokotitlan and other parties. We
also recorded an independent CD.
In 1997 I belonged to Hera, a band which mixed percussion and voice
with live dance. We also played in culture houses and art festivals.
In 1999 I joined to Yerberos, a reggae band that had already 2 CD’s.
I recorded their third CD with them. I acquired a lot of experience
with them, They were a famous band in Mexico, and we did a lot of
tours, sessions, radio, tv, newspaper and magazine interviews. We
shared the stage with huge reggae bands such as Big Mountain, Cultura
Profetica and Jimmy Clif. We had around 15 thousand people at our
public performances a couple of times, and we filmed 2 videos. One
of them was 5th place on Mtv latino and TeleHit.
In 2003 I was the vocalist of La liga da la Justicia, a jazz band.
We played on important stages like the Hard Rock Life Mexico, and the
Teatro Pedregal.
I have sung several times in the “Nuevo Orleansâ€, a well known jazz
restaurant bar, and in other places as an invited musician in jam
sessions.
I have recorded quite a few jingles for radio and TV spots and
programs, and some songs for EMI Publishing.
I studied the in the school of Contemporary Music at the Academia
de Musica Fermatta and received a bachelor of vocal techniques at G
Martell College of Music and Audio. I have taken private classes
with great teachers such as Raul Garduño, pianist and song
arrangement with Juan Gabriel, and with Cinthia Snell, a famous jazz
singer, with which currently I’m studying vocal technique and
improvisation.
I took a course at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California.

EDDE.- In the musical aspect, I have played in many bands, all of
them, rock bands. The first one was Zarcodia, in which we first
played covers and after some time we included our own songs. With
this band I could understand the relationship between rock music and
Mexican bars because we started playing in La Neurona, Naked City,
Falsa Alarma and the bars located around them started to call us
because they liked the band.
After that I got together with some of my childhood friends like
Gibran and Ye (ex percussion player and bass player of Amante Acida)
and we formed a rock fusion band named Rojo Congo, with which we had
relative success as we had the opportunity to play in some of the
best bars of Mexico City and share the stage with bands like La
Casta, Nudo, Eli Guerra, Julieta Venegas, and Zoe between others.
This band allowed us to learn and develop our song writing and
interpretation side, something new for all of us.
Rojo Congo was dissolved and after the separation and time to settle
down, I got together once again with Omar to support him with some of
his songs, but now from an other place… the drum
The result was satisfactory for both of us so we decided to confine
the project and we created Ella es Dulce, a rock electro-pop band
with simple but effective songs. Then, we got completed because Nax
joined us and the band got a new touch that we definitely needed, but
unfortunately, due to work, I had to abandon this band so I could
fully dedicate myself just to my actual band Amante Acida.
While I was in Ella es Dulce, I met Alfredo Grijalba “el Griâ€, which
whom I played percussions and produced a CD with his songs.
This musical union with Gri and later with Omar, became Gri y su
Amante Acida, the forerunner of the actual Amante Acida.
I have participated in the creation of jingles for spots in
Audiencias Cautivas, company that provides services to important
pharmaceutical companies such as Elly Lilly and Novartis with Alonso
Hernandez
Currently, I am working in an audio studio as an audio engineer
editing and mixing movies, tv programs, cartoons and musical bands...................................
LEON.- I started playing the guitar when I was 14 years old while I
studied the High School with some informal studios of popular music,
after that, I studied 2 years at the Escuela Superior de Musica
(Superior School of Music). Presently I am studying at DIM Arte y
Cultura (Music school).
