I’m tired I’m tired of being the one that everyone else leans on I’m tired being the voice of reason While others are allowed to get away with irrational speech and behavior I’m tired of people looking for me to carry them When they don’t even have courage to stand on their own two feet I’m tired of people coming to me for answers Because they refuse to think for themselves I’m tired of the double standard that I am held to And the weak excuses that people give as reasons for them I’m tired of people asking for my opinion Then telling me that I shouldn’t feel the way that I feel I’m tired of people making promises to me That they are unable or unwilling to keep Then acting like it wasn’t that important to begin with I’m tired of people taking my kindness for weakness Then making me the bad guy when “Iceman” shows up I’m tired being told to be sympathetic and considerate of the feelings of others When no one ever considers or cares about mine I’m tired of being the last one to know what’s going on in my life Because other people as if they know what’s best for me I’m tired of bailing other people out of trouble Knowing that they wouldn’t be able to do the same for me I’m tired of paying for the mistakes of others And then being told I was obligated to do so I’m tired of being surrounded by those who are satisfied with mediocrity And think that I should do the same I’m tired feeling like I’m trapped in an invisible cage I’m tired of feeling like I’m getting older and not better I’m tired of being stuck in the same rut Day after day Week after week Month after month I’m tired of having to be on constant alert Because no one can be completely trusted I’m tired of not living life to the fullest I’m tired of waiting on others in order to make a move I’m tired of holding back Simply put ladies and gentlemen I’m tired By
