About Me

Allow me to introduce myself. I am a retired Navy Master Chief, who now works as an IT Consultant specializing in ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library). I live in Northern Virginia, just outside of Dulles Airport, but have a vacation condo in West Virginia where I spend most of my weekends. My kids are all grown and on their own, so my wife and I are enjoying the life of being empty nesters. I do genealogy for a hobby.

My Interests

I am an avid genealogist, and have an interest in ancient near eastern history. I am also an oeniphile that is a lover of wine. I love to pair a good wine with excellent food so that both taste better.

I'd like to meet:

I tend to enjoy meeting just about anyone. Platonic only, I’m not hunting for a mate, as I am happily married. Age is not a biggie.

Music:

Bit eclectic here. My favorite music is classical, but I also enjoy oldies, jazz, and rock. My favorite composers are John Adams, and Thomas Tallas.

Movies:

I love movies, but watch mainly DVDs I get from NetFlix. I love all kinds, even “chick flicks.”

Television:

I can take it or leave it, though I do have a fascination with Survivor.

Books:

I am an avid reader. Aside from technical reading (boring), I mainly read fiction and histories. Several years ago, I compiled a list of almost 600 books from the Internet that were “must” reads. This includes much of the classics of literature. I am working my way through this list, and am at about 23% read.

Heroes:

Rosa Parks – One person can make a change! I had the pleasure of meeting her once. Her graciousness was beyond comprehension.
