About Me

Music History: Played a few years in the band Argus in the mid to late 70's. In the early 80's played and wrote songs in original bands around Minneapolis, played at 1st Avenue, 7th St Entry, The Longhorn. Some of the bands were "Peer Group", "Random Thoughts," "The Janglers." I kept recording a lot in the basement studio and kept sending demos to record companies. Some such as A&M, Warner Bros, Enigma sounded very interested but never came through with a big paying contract of any kind. A&M also talked about having me produce but that didn't materialize either. Then in the mid 80's I became very involved in a local church and started helping a lot with sound. Then there were openings on worship teams for guitar or bass players and I kept busy doing that. Now my daughter Emily has a band and is busy writing songs. That keeps our project studio busy and me as well. Check out her website: myspace.com/emilyelizabethmn I guess for now I'll keep writing and playing and trying to find an outlet for the music. YOU GOT TO LET IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Influences: Favorite bands are: U2 for a long time, Coldplay, Switchfoot,Los Lobos,Beatles, Badfinger, Plimsouls, Big Star, Delirious, David Crowder, Brian Eno, Daniel Lanois, Peter Gabriel, also anything with an ambient or spacial sound to it, including a lot of the newer worship stuff that's out there. I love songs that create a mood and make you feel something. I love the blues, which I love to play and listen to but don't write much. I'm a huge Stevie Ray Vaughn fan. When that guy played, you felt something. And don't forget "Emily Rheingans" definitely a favorite of mine, also Whiplash, Copeland, Imogen heap, Snow Patrol,Sigar Ros, Radiohead, and all the other wild imaginative young bands out there.
