Seventh Angel was a band that was formed in 1987 by Ian Arkley and Scott Rawson. After having two drummers join and then leave in 1988, Mark Ruff joined on drums in 1989 and he and Arkley produced thier first demo,"Seventh Angel", with Mark on drums and Ian on Bass, Guitar, and vocals. Soon Simon Bibby joined on bass to play shows. Shortly after thier fifth show in 1989, Mark left and Seventh Angel toured the UK and Ireland with Whitecross. Colin Brookes played drums on tour. Scott left and then came back with Andrew Thompson(a.k.a. "Tank") replacing Colin on the drums. Scott soon left again and the band recorded thier second demo "The Rehearsal Demo". Scott rejoined again in late December. On January 25th 1990, Seventh Angel Appeared on Channel 4's "Not On Sunday" program. They performed "Divine Takeover", and The Daily Telegraph described them as one of Britian's leading Thrash Bands. On February 14th, Ian and Si got into a car accident, but that didn't stop the band as Si played with a broken arm and Ian sang through broken teeth. In March Seventh Angel recorded thier third demo "Heed The Warning". Soon after the band recorded thier debut album "The Torment" at Mad Hat Studios with Paul Hodson. The cover art was done by Rodney Matthews. After that the next few months were spent playing at local venues around Dudley and Stourbridge, and they also played at The Rock Tavern in Brierley Hill. The band also headlined Metal Meltdown in November, wich was to be Si's last gig;he left the following February. Seventh Angel appeared on BBC TV in 1991 with video footage of the song "Forbidden Desires". Not long after, Seventh Angel's second Album "Lament For The Weary" was recorded in ICC Studios with Roy Rowland. In October Scott left the band for good, and then Si Jones left the band. Seventh Angel continued on with only Ian and Tank as permanent members. The band soon split but soon reformed to play the Christmas Rock Night in Germany with Jon Willis on bass. Over the next few months Earl Morris and Nic White played on bass. After playing more festivals and gigs, Seventh Angel played its last show on December 12th 1992 in Utrecht, Holland. The band then split up. In 2005, Bombworks Records re-released the "Heed The Warning" demo along with live tracks.Seventh Angel 1987-1992
