About Me

The Pound per Pound Undisputed Champion of the Night Clubs, DJKY is best known as the Klub King. Tagged as the Klub King, for the masses that flock to night spots to hear him. DJKY's musical divide has no bounds, no one musical genre can hold him. They want Top 40, Hip Hop, Rock, Reggae, Reggaetone, House, R&B, and Jazz. His ear for creating new is no less impressive. When not holding it down in the clubs, he's best found locked in his laboratory creating new masterpieces of musical artistry. Born into a musical family where his mother often played Gospel music through out the house. DJKY's personal love of DJing took flight as a 6th grader. From the very moment he tried spinning records with his elder brother and friends, he knew...this was to be his thing. For the next for years to come, he'd try to DJ on any turntables he could find. A friend's father actually gave him his first set of turntables. He still owns them. They are among his most prizes possessions. DJKY started spinning at basement parties here and there for high school friends. At 15 he was up in the clubs, any he could get into. A good dancer out on the floor but it was in the DJ booth where his true spirit was. Where ever he went he made sure to holler at the DJ's, get to know the scene. As a student of his craft, he later realized that his love for dancing helped him understand what the crowds wanted to hear. In the mid 90's DJKY linked up with another hot DJ prospect DJ Cory Ak of Chester, PA. They became the best of friends, partners in musical crime. Before long the two were doing radio (Power 99 / WUSL Philadelphia). During those years DJKY says he was "paying his dues". His connection to Dj Cory Ak opened many doors for him. His first radio debut was on the Jah-T Sunday night Reggae Show (WUSL). From there he was well on his way to being a big time DJ. Every Friday night you’d' find KY at Club Palmer then head off to the radio station to do the Powerdome show, Friday's 2AM to 5AM. Powerdome was hosted by DJ Cory AZ, DJ'd by DJKY. As well, he'd do a live broadcast from the Chrome Night Club in Philadelphia on Sunday night's to packed crowds. Having built an impressive name for himself on the street with constant request for mixtapes, DJKY became a fixture on the Tri-state area club scene. In 2005 he won the Best DJ Award in the Philadelphia area. For 2006 he appeared on BET's Rap City. During the same period DJKY was resident DJ at Hip Hop Icon JayZ's 40/40 Club in Atlantic City. He has performed with the world' best: Funk Master Flex, Jay Z, Fat Man Scoop, Big Kap, Cipher Sounds, DJ Clark Kent, Kid Capri, Tony Touch, DJ Envy, DJ S&S, Just Blaze, DJ Kay Slay, Lil John and many more. Currently he’s doing sets in Philly, Atlantic City, NYC, Las Vegas, LA, Miami, Boston, and Houston. Connect with the man yourself at Myspace.com/djkytheklubking or [email protected]
