Executive Producer.....SUB ONE, born and bred in Isleworth west London. From a very young age he was influenced by most genre's of music.His elder brothers, NODS in particular collected music that has had a great influence on him. NODS was also a founder member of a sound system which SUB ONE eventually became a part of, this further bought him into the world of music. As a part of the sound system he learnt how to set up fairly large rigs in many venues throughout London. He also gained a passion for mixing and became very good technically as a scratch, mix, cut D.J. He went on to performing live at many venues. This then lead to making music on four tracks all the way through to working in other peoples studios. After some years at this he realised that he needed to have his own studio setup for him to full fill his own musical dreams and journey.
This in short is how SUB ONE ended up being a part of creating Jask productions. Producer NODS is his elder brother and co director of the company, the combination of the 2 gives Jask a good balance, the added bonus of NODS'S own flavour as a producer. The experience they both had in sound systems has helped them in their journey into the realms of pro tools and the digital studio environment. This gives both producers an edge as they have worked at the front line – live P.A.
SUB ONE'S musical influences are like most music heads quite varied. If having to choose a few,he would have to mention people from the past like Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Leroy Hutson and Curtis Mayfield. From the here and now, he would have to mention Slum Village, Outkast, Busta Rhymes, Dwele and Syleena Johnston.
What is SUB ONE doing now? He has gone on to establishing unique style as an urban hip hop/soul producer. At present he is working with several artists on many different tracks. Firstly there is P'TORO, MYSTERIOUS MC, P.STEPPA, Q DAWG, JIOR, CIARO, CHELO, HEYDEEJAY, CHANEL ZANE FUSCO and INNERCIRCUIT............SUB ONE SAMPLER CD OUT SOON!!!
Describing SUB ONE's style in brief .... style as a producer he would say that it is ‘real feel’. That means trying to keep it real but still giving some feeling. Deep soul melodies combined with hip hop beats, rarely but sometimes by sampling and mostly totally played and always with a bit of Soul!!
SUB ONE on MAMA D...'' Another integral part of Jask productions is Mama ‘D’ A.K.A Dip , (also my wife of 16 years and partner in crime). Since the time this was just a dream she has persevered, and has helped make it to where we are now and is our main support in dealing with artists and media Her role now is exhausting all types of exposure through radio, gigs, media''.!!!!!!!!
MYSTERIOUS MC Aged 23. Mysterious is what I would call a real rapper as he can freestyle and or write verses at will and on the spot. We labelled him ‘machine gun’ for the way he can just spit rhymes for what seems like hours, without apparently breathing!!!!!!!!!! He is a true hip hop head and is not driven by the fame but by the game. He joined us through P.Toro and has dropped some bombs on some Sub One beats. His dedication is second to none, and i believe this will see him excel as an artist. Again, we will be ready for the airways, and Mysterious is ready and eager for live shows !!!!!!!
JIOR, that is an abbreviation for Junior which he was christened, this was for being the youngest of six. He grew up in the church ,listening to his brothers playing rock, Jazz and everything he wasnt supposed to be listening to in church music time. Jior grew up, like most of us, enduring licks from his parents! Thus, Jior feels all the more determined. From there his passion for music devoured him and has led him to this day.....Educating himself was the key.....He moved on from learning the basics in organ lessons, which Jior disliked at the time, to later teach himself piano, guitar, bass, trumpet and just about anything he could get his hands on........ After playing in various bands over the years, he made a firm decision to persue his career as a musician/singer/songwriter/producer. This later led onto to Jior working on his own album 'Whisper Of An Embrace', completley created in his bedroom studio in Reading...........At this time Jior made a decision to move to London and he finished his album.... The theme of the album tells the story of Love, from being alone to going out, meeting someone, falling in love, the pleasures of being in love, Falling out of love, lies, deceit, making up, heart ache............ In 2004 Jior met up with Jask Productions, producers Sub One and Nodz, their manager MaMa D (Dip) and Little L. A collaboration with Sub One created Jior's soulful singles.........'So In Love' and 'life'........The future has plenty more soulful grooves and vibes to come!!!!!
Movement Occidental – uniting is the mission, advancing through tradition..!
Movement Occidental was started in Heidelberg, Germany in late 2005 by long time friends and aspiring hiphop artists NvY and Cpartakyc. The idea was twofold; firstly to create a structured platform for themselves and their friends, who had until then been messing around with hiphop music on a largely individual basis. Secondly, their aim was to expand upon their own international flavour by uniting emcees, producers, singer-songwriters and poets of different cultures, creeds and continents. Today, movement occidental has roughly a dozen members on four continents, and many more affiliates worldwide.Movin’ Minds Vol. 1 is the first release under movement occidental’s own Occidental Publishing unit. It features a number of tracks recorded in the first half of 2007; tracks that were chosen to exemplify the honest, straightforward yet catchy, musical style taking shape as a consequence of the diverse influences. Although not all members are featured on this first instalment, Movin’ Minds Vol. 1 clearly outlines the direction in which movement occidental intends to take its own unique type of intercultural HipHop music.......Collabs with Sub One and JASK to come......U.K meets Germany!!!!!
The INNER CIRCUIT aka INNER CIRC consists of 2 members; Ace Boss and G-Man. Ace boss and G-man grew up on the same block and have known each other for over 10 years now. Although close the connection wasn't strong Up until 4 years ago that is. “As youth growing up we have always loved hip-hop and soon we realised music was an outlet for us and our friends, so slowly we got involved more and more into the underground u.k hip-hop scene. We started out on Fruity Loops, making beats. Then, realising that rhyming wasn't in fact that difficult; we delved into the deep end, and came out smiling.” The group has been together for 2 years now and was formerly known as Inner Circle Entertainment (I.C.E). But due to certain copyright laws, the group had to change the name, now they go by the name of INNER CIRCUIT. Being some what philosophical in our mind set our lyrical content reflects this. As a group we focus on the injustices imposed upon the human race by these government bodies that are set up to make us fail as individuals. As a group they have performed on various platforms. Talent showcases such as Hackney (Chats Palace) & in Tottenham (”Back to da Stage”) open MicS in Hackney & in Camden (Oh bar); buzz bar (Leicester Square) London, “Manic fm”, ukflow.tv, Playvybz.com & on the Corner internet radio stations. The inner circuit &nutty p also appeared on passion TV sky 183 in June, on the breakfast show HOSTED BY EROL HINGS In May we performed as a support act for “SISTARS” winners of best polish act at the MTV Music Awards 2004 at “Scala” in King's Cross they also were opening acts for Kaster squad (*polish rappers)in march 2006 at the Rhythm factory due to the success of their performance promoters asked them to return July 2006 to support Vienio & pele- featured by DJ Kostek.INNER CIRCUIT also took a short role in the SISTARS music video that was filmed during their stay here in the UK. The music video and song of SISTARS “Na dwa” is number one on most play lists in Poland at the moment. The inner circuit also have released there own music video to the long awaited track RETURN TO HIP HOP FT SKREIN FROM UNDERGROUND ALLIANCE. Upon the release of this video it went straight into the channel u charts at number 11 which was healed for 2weeks.The video has also been released on mtv Poland and mtv u.k.The Inner Circuit is now working on there 2nd video to the track named WOAH which they hope will be a Sept/Oct release. Lots of good reviews have come back due to the success of the group for UKHH, RAGO MAGAZINE, and MUSICROOMS.NET LINKS ON WEB PAGE. Each medium INNER CIRC has used to express and progress with; both the medium and the listening audience have given nothing but positive feedback. All album productions was carried out by their producer Nutty P. Now in 2007 Innercircuit are working on thier 2nd album, colaborating with Nutty P, and other producers including Sub One. 2 Tracks are on thier way....Watch this space!!!!!!!!
