About Me

Paul Wilkerson’s DJ career started from humble beginnings, mixing it up in his bedroom, at house parties and like most DJ’s, creating mix tapes and CD’s for friends. Then one of the CD’s escaped into the hands of a promoter who was running Hard House nights in the North of England. Paul was contacted and asked to come and spin the decks to see what he could do. Three gigs later he was warming up for Lisa Pin Up.
Paul, who was burning with ambition, saw a DJ competition advertised at a local night club in Newmarket, Club M. Paul had previously visited the club as a clubber and was excited at the prospect of being able to play his style of tougher edged music to the crowds. With much vocal support from friends and family, and his pure love for entertaining, Paul achieved 1st place rating in the competition and was offered a residency, which he grasped with both hands. The competition had been judged by Sundissential, Ministry of Sound, Vibe FM and Club M boss at the time, Mark O Brian. Paul joined Club M Residents, Big Ben and Layth in supporting guest DJ’s such as Judge Jules, Anne Savage, Jon the Dentist, AJ Gibson and many more.
In May 2002, Paul followed another dream. Red Pill Records, Paul’s very own record shop was born in Paul’s home town of Kings Lynn. Here Paul was allowed to source the music he had fell in love with so much and made it possible for people to come and find those underground musical gems locally that they had heard belting out at raves and club nights. Within it’s first year the shop was a growing feast of musical talent, with DJ’s from all over East Anglia and beyond coming in for that track to play at the weekend, a melting pot of ideas, event information and DJ comradeship. A real dream come true and all the support will never be forgotten.
Meanwhile Paul’s DJ gigs where rapidly increasing and was consistently being booked for nearly every major Hard Dance event that was happening in the area, BIG, Roobarb, Tek-Nology, Serious Klub Knowledge Tours and Slinky East Tours to name a few. Playing alongside guest DJ’s such as Andy Farley, Anne Savage, Tidy Boys, Eddie Halliwell, and Paul Glazby and residents such as Big Ben, Dave Austin and Layth. What more could Paul ask for?
This! In early 2004 Paul was asked to become a resident for possibly East Anglia’s biggest Hard Dance club night, BIG. This found Paul sharing the stage with other club nights such as Goodgreef, Tidy and Wildchild and DJ’s such as Lab 4, Alex Kidd, K90 and Lisa Lashes. Paul also made his London debuts at the awesome Scala and the Rocket Complex for the huge London club night Frantic. Paul rocked the foundations playing in the second room which was hosted by niteclubbers.net and club the world. The DJ stage was draped with the legendary banner, Nukleuz. The later part of 2004 also saw Paul play the hallowed halls of London’s Heaven for Wildchild / Slinky / BIG extravaganza , And a BIG Vs Riot tour at BIG’s new home the awesome Junction in Cambridge.
So that brings us round to 2005. Paul continued his residency in true Pauly style, not only playing for the major home events but also flying the flag up north again as Paul represented in the Parlez-Vous room at the legendary Vibealite in Bradford. Playing alongside, Lee Haslam, Tara Reynolds & Guyver. Paul then was asked to represent another fantastic club night Roobarb, along side residents Dave Austin & Jon Charles twice in London, at the superb Fire Club and the Factory. Paul also made his debut appearance at one of Norwich’s longest running club nights Absolution and another London first at SE ONE for Wildchild’s 3rd Birthday.
So what does 2006 bring? Already Paul has celebrated BIG’s 5th Birthday, presented his very own Techno night in Kings Lynn, runs and owns repillrecords.com, booked to support a Tidy Euphoria Tour and Paul’s debut Techno production is to be released on new Techno label, Techstyle. Paul is looking forward to the future.
