Like any self-respecting Englishmen football is a big part of my life, my old man's a West Ham fan but my heart belongs to the mighty reds of Nottingham Forest. I enjoy playing and watching rugby, cricket, golf and snooker. I've recently got seriously into poker, could be the start of an expensive problem. On the social side i'm a lover of Beer, Italian food, fast cars and faster women.
Like-minded individuals with the same outlook on life, sense of humour and a decent attitude, but if all that fails fit women will do, see i'm not fussy really.
I grew up listening to a mixture of brit-rock and metal that has slowly mutated into a love for Indie and decent guitar rock. It all started with Maiden, Metallica, G&R followed by a detour with Offspring before moving onto to Oasis, The Verve, Ocean Colour Scene and Ian Brown to name a few. As far as new stuff goes i'm loving the great wave of new decen Indie Bands but keeping a distinct place in my heart for the likes of 3 Doors Down.
My perfect film can be described as an action-packed, fast-paced intelligent thriller with plenty of plot twists and just a dab of dark-humour thrown in for good measure. I've seen most of the classics so I wont bore you with an exhuastive list. I will however give you a few examples of films I feel have taken hours of my life away with nothing given back, some recent examples include "A Dirty Shame"(shame on you Knoxville) and "Guy X" (Stick to American Pie Biggs).
24 stands alone as one of the most well-written, gripping and intense TV series I've ever had the pleasure of watching. The overall king of comedy is Family Guy, I challenge even the most die-hard Simpsons fan to watch even one series and tell me it isn't funnier, non-pc hilarity at its finest. Soaps has to be Hollyoaks and Neighbours, I'm a student and it's the law.
My tastes here really go the same way as with films, anything by Wilbur Smith, John Grisham, Andy McNab, and Robert Ludlum to name but a few awesome thriller writers. I've tried to get into Harry Potter I really have but hey what can I say, they just didn't draw me in.
It's difficult trying to think of people who really inspired me, but of the few one that stands out is Lance Armstrong, to overcome what he had to and achieve what he has is a testament to the strength of the human condition. AS far as childhood heroes go you can't go wrong with the likes of Spiderman, that guy had it nailed.
