About Me

HELLHOUND BROWN: “CHANCEGHOST” Debut album from a new band with a retrodelic roots rock sound!Rocketing out of a burning stockroom down at the museum of rhythm and blues, HELLHOUND BROWN seek to restore roots authenticity to psychedelic rock and roll.Drawing on DIVERSE golden greats from HOWLIN’ WOLF, to ROKY ERICSON, to CREAM, to (believed it or not) JJ CALE, the classic three-piece line-up of HELLHOUND BROWN delivers an exhilirating blend of adrenaline, passion and rocknroll attitude.Like any good sociopath, HELLHOUND BROWN are upbeat when they’re feeling good, (‘LOSE MY MIND’, ‘MAKE A FOOL’, ‘COME BACK BABY’) but when things turn bad they descend into the darkest blues (‘RAG DOLL BAD, BAD LUCK, SEE THROUGH LOVE’). In between, this loveable trio oscillate between paranoid delusion (‘BLIND MAN’), desperation (‘HOLD ON’) and controlled rage (‘DON’T CALL’, ‘WORRY’) – all the while keeping a familiar psychotic hold on the listener with songs from the Holy Canon of rock’n’roll – ‘COME BACK BABY’, ‘WITCHDOCTOR’, ‘SEND ME YOUR PILLOW’, summoning the ghosts of the eternal greats in an electric stranglehold guaranteed to entertain and fascinate …Danceable? Hell yeah. But not only: also file under music for chillin’ with a significant other, for trancin’ out on a long lazy summer night, for getting’ it on at party-time and last but not least, under music for extended cross-continental road trips. In pursuit of the deepfried, tape-saturated sound of the 60’s rock, these fat analogue sounds were recorded live on the vintage gear down at Soundpark Studio, Melbourne, rock’n’roll world city par excellenceSinger-guitarist PATCH got his mojo from the shark infested beaches of north Queensland after cutting his chops busking the world from New Zealand to Glasgow. Drummer VENOM draws his power from years on the road playing with Australian rock legends of every stripe. Bassist BRYAN ‘3500’ COLECHIN spent years touring the world with the psychedelic experimentalism of Hugo Race and the True Spirit.Funny thing that, because CHANCEGHOST was produced by Hugo (who also played keyboards on these sessions) and features the TRUE SPIRIT’s Michelangelo Russo on feedback harmonica, trumpet and trombone – adding a twisted undertow to the electric flow of HELLHOUND BROWN.CHANCEGHOST is the vibrant offspring between rock’n’roll and the great unknown! Birthed on the last and lostest continent from Anglo-American roots, HELLHOUND BROWN are set to blow holes in your loungeroom walls…Listen at high volume from beginning to end and send a self-addressed email to order this album now!!!
