About Me
Keyboardist/vocalist Alex Richman has had a long and varied performing, recording, and songwriting history. Her first band, St. John and the Heads (which got changed to St. John because nobody got it), opened for The Allman Brothers, Rufus, Ten Wheel Drive, and Cold Blood in Chicago, and Zephyr and Flash Cadillac in Boulder, Colorado. She went on to record a solo album, Salty, on Capitol Records, which featured Ry Cooder on guitar. Since then, she has toured with Danny O'Keefe, performed and recorded with Stu Gardner and the Sanctified Sound, which included The Brothers Johnson and Ray Parker, Jr., performed and recorded with The Butts Band, featuring Robbie Krieger and John Densmore of The Doors, and toured in Europe with Curved Air, which included Stewart Copeland of The Police on drums. She has lived in New York, Iowa City, Chicago, Boulder, Los Angeles, London, Denver, and has since returned full circle to New York. She currently performs with several New York area bands, which include the Rat's Ass Rhythm Section, Dave Rudbarg and Friends, Chip Larison and the Catfight Blues Band, Ricky Blues, the Sly Geralds Band, and Girls On Top.
