About Me

I work with the youth. I am a Coordinator in a program that deals with the youth on Drinking and Driving called(Every15Minutes).It is a program where they get hands on in dealing with effects of Drinking and Driving. With out them getting HURT....The Loss of a Loved One is not a great felling, I lost a G/F to a 18 year old that was Drinking and Driving that thought he was indestructable on April 13,1992. Have you heard of a program called EVERY 15 MINUTES? It's a program that comes to your high school and it's VERY effective. They stage an accident caused by a drunk driver (using students, parents, police, paramedics ...the whole thing). Then every 15 minutes a student is removed from class and sent home (or their face is painted white and they aren't allowed to talk for two days to represent death). Why? Every 15 minutes someone in the US is involved in an alcohol related accident. I urge you to contact the program and have them come to your high school. Here's how it works: On the loudspeaker at your school, a 911 call triggers an emergency response by police, firefighters, paramedics AND THE CORONER. They all then show up at your high school. About 25 students and their families are involved in staging a drunk driving collision on your football field. Firefighters use the "jaws of life" to remove one student. Another student is declared dead and carried off. A driver is arrested for driving under the influence. Officers book the drunk driver. Day two of the program is in your auditorium and different scenes unfold like the drunk driver calling his mom to tell her he's killed his friend. Parents are informed that their child is now dead. It's really dramatic, really amazing...and it DOES make you think! For t two days, a different student is taken out of the classroom EVERY 15 minutes to make you aware that somewhere out there...someone is dead because of drunk driving. Try and get your high school involved...this program IS AMAZING!
