About Me

Songs from the soil, songs from the soul, La Cerca is the blast from the pop sounds of the sun. Born out of the ashes of other bands, 2000 was a long time ago when Tucson was a smaller music scene. La Cerca took a fierce route across the states, campaigning songs from Goodbye Phantom Engineer (Unlike 2001), which was recorded by Jim Waters at Waterworks in Tucson.Years pass, the band sputters home to friends and families, sleeping on couches deciding that the touring life is pretty harsh when there's no more banks handing out free money, just for the hell of it. Decidedly, the band stays home to tend to the children (i.e. the new songs that pop up out of the ground), hang out with the rocks and the source the songs are cultivated. They are waiting for a better day when the music industry isn's so fucked up with that shitty mp3 sound, illegeal downloads and people not buying records and stuff. The new recordings are again recorded at Waterworks with Jim Waters. A new sound is found. Again, catchy pop songs about girls and having a good time in the sun. You can catch some of these songs at their live shows and perhaps when it comes safe to tour in a city near you.The band is moody. Tucson is way hott. Slowing down and taking it easy is imparitive. There is plenty of guts in their songs, so it's pretty hard to just give it away myspace style. You just have to go to a show and encourage them to put out the new record... especially since another new batch of tunes are awaiting the studio.Over the years, La Cerca has played with Xiu Xiu, John Vanderslice, Snowpony, The Good Life, Mark Eitzel, Radio 4, The Faint, Radar Bros., Elf Power, Art Brut, and a bunch other great bands. Thanks to those bands for playing.
