Born in Switzerland, I started my musical education by playing piano from the age of six. I then got into singing and after a workshop in classical singing, got the opportunity to perform at the Conservatoire of Music in Geneva.
After several brief band experiences, my soul career began in the SCC band in 1997 where we entered and won a television contest that brought us a many more performances across the country.
At this point I was ready to begin songwriting and production knowing how I wanted to sound. After producing my first demo (which took me way too long but I wasn't paying the musicians!) I moved to London in 2000, and started working with Oxford based band Harambe.
My first London gig was in the Jazz Café which provided me with the drive and platform to move to the next step. Whlist touring the London scene, I amongst other things recorded with Sec Bidens, Congolese singer songwriter from Papa Wemba, which resulted in a French and Africa-wide release.
With mixed influences from Jill Scott, India Arie, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Alicia Keys, Brian McKnight to Santana, Barbra Streisand, Erykah Badu, En Vogue, Rachel Ferrell, Roberta Flack and Anita Baker.
I feel unbelievably lucky to have performed alongside great talent such as Ray Robinson, Sharleen Hector, Carmen Reece (www.carmenreece.com), Bev Tawiah (www.myspace.com/tawiah), Aaron Sokell (www.myspace.com/aaronsokell), CC Martin, L-Marie (www.myspace.com/lmarie4u), Dreadkey (www.myspace.com/dreadkey), Short Man and Realism. I am also a vocal arranger and I strive on working with new people!
My contacts and love of live music enabled me to host at a variety of venues amongst which were Satay Bar, Troy Bar, The Spot and now Cottons in Farringdon in London. I am now focusing on developing her songwriting and performance skills as well as record new material (though the day job is making things difficult!).
