--SOL PRODUCTIONS is a film production organization founded by Trinity College students Magee McIlvaine, Maureen Masterson, and Christopher Moore. The three are a group of unique individuals with a passion for independent filmmaking and community activism on a global level.--The three developed Sol Productions together during their time at Trinity College in Hartford. They have written, directed, and produced documentaries on binge drinking, foreign language education, Russian history, the Chavez presidency in Venezuela, diversity at a small liberal arts college, and more. Through their experiences outside the US, their active involvement in community organizing here in the US, and their film-work worldwide, Chris, Mo, and Magee represent a diverse array of perspectives brought together as one.--Sol Productions works to educate American and global audiences on themes that might never reach them through traditional education, corporate media, Hollywood films, and even academic textbooks. Our messages reach audiences more efficiently because they are communicated or spoken through the popular modern voices of film and music.--Our work is aggressively marketed to the academic world as a cool way to learn. Our films on freestyle rap and spoken word poetry in Hartford and binge drinking at small private colleges have already been used in both high school and university classrooms as an alternative way to educate youth.
