Mechanical Psycho Dolls

WE WON'T STAY DEAD!

About Me

One million years B.C. ago..
"Mechanical Psycho Dolls" was born in July 2005, when four kids found themselves together for a strange trip, discovering their common passion for music, horror movies and way of life. In August they finally decided to give birth to a band, encouraged by friends, fiends and other creatures. One day in September the kids decided the name for the “creature” they wanted to create: MPD describe as better as possible the temper of the band members, a strange group of fiends which want to attack all that’s around them. At the beginning the biggest inspiration for the music came from the Misfits, MPD started to play some of their most known songs, performed in their first live act, in September the 10th 2005, when they played in a some kind of festival for local bands in our village-prison, Montagnana. After the show many f(r)iends joined the Psycho Crew, alliance of supporters, promoters, technicians, groupies and many more. One of them created MPD’s logo, which was named “Creepie”, a strange creature which lives under our beds and in closets. Creepie started to follow the band everywhere, you can see it on MPD’s pictures, toons and merchandising. After the first live act, MPD started to compose their first song, called "Night of the psycho dolls", creating a horror atmosphere, using, also, the expression which recalls Romero's masterpiece, "Night of the living dead". Always following the inspiration from Romero's zombie movies, the Dolls produced another songs, "March of the dead", a synthesis of the zombies cinematographic world, which hidden also a social metaphore. In November the 19th 2006 MPD went to the stage for the second time, performing at Soprano Pub in Montagnana, where they played as headliner for a birthday live party, with average, Brandelli HC & Screaming Demons. The third song which appeared, "Cerbero" is an attack to the christian prescriptions and mentality, which oppresses people's mind and temper, with only few words like "obey" and "repent". Just one month later than the performance at Soprano, the Dolls were called to the stage at Corte Samuele in December the 17th, where they performed “Cerbero” for the first time. The following song "Who will come at my funeral?" where finished in January 2006. MPD members finally refused their common names and identities, to embrace a new life as Undead (Psycho) Dolls. Mattia, the drummer, became psycho_MAT, the doll which give rhythm to MPD songs playing drums and getting drunk. Cosma, the bassist, turn himself into mister_COMA, able to compose bass lines that run up people’s spines like a chill and with his howls accompany doktor_EVIL, the doll version of Ferdi, lead singer and surgeon of Dolls Nursery, where he modifies child plays and puppets in order to give life to his evil progeny. Last but not least Metteo, lead guitarist of the band, rose up from his sleep as mistery_MAFF , the strangest doll of the group, surely the most elegant, who has something hidden in his hat, maybe Creepie or something else, surely not of this world.
The end of the winter was a period of silence for the Dolls, they rest in peace buried six feet under their beds, but when spring came they returned to haunt and torment people’s lives. Immediately they’ve searched for a girl which help them, singing in a new song. MPD wanted to create a strange atmosphere in that song, made by the union of two different vocal styles, doktor_Evil’s style with a female one. The idea was born in the doktor’s evil mind, after having seen a strange place in Rovigo, called “the whirlpool of the bride”, involved in a medieval legend. This legend talked about a bride which disappeared in mysterious circumstances near this place during her honeymoon. This old story give the inspiration for the lyrics of “The Ghost of my bride", composed with Cassandra, a beautiful and good singer, friend of the dolls, who joined happily the band. After the complete creation of that last song, MPD thought that was the time to make their work concrete and went to Diego Callegari’s music studio to give birth to the first demo tape and called it “Go Creepie! Go!”. After a month of hard work and hard drunks the first creature of the dolls where complete and ready to infect the world.
Here’s the tracklist:

Just the week before the release “Go Creepie! Go!” the dolls were called to perform at Eugenio Balzan Institute, the school where the doktor spent and wasted part of his time. MPD played at the final school assembly in May the 13th , at Teatro Politeama in Badia Polesine, where they finally express themselves ad better as they could. Few days later “Go Creepie! Go!” was officially released and in May the 20th, MPD had the possibility to celebrate the new release opening for S.O.A.D. tribute band and Sown at SottoSopra rock-zone. Many friends came to see the Mechanical Psycho Show which was full of music, demons and scary cabaret performances. Also MPD performed “Death In Chocolate”, the secret song, composed during the recording session.
The beginning of the Mechanical Psycho era.
“Go Creepie! Go!” infected our friends lives and many of them were capables to sing the songs with MPD during concerts. In June 2005 the dolls returned at Corte Samuele to take part to a festival of local bands, the last performance before the summer sleep. Just the time to create a new song “The Christmas Massacre” which contains the power of hardcore punk mixed up with the joyful words of a manipulated Christmas prayer. During summer MPD returned into their sleep which continued until September, when the dolls returned with a new song, “Mechanical Heart”, a strange piece which recalls the suffering of beings and the prison statement inside the heart of a mechanical architecture called “man”. In September the 24th MPD performed in Solesino central square, with many local bands, for a festival organised by some friends and sponsored by a skate shop. For the two following months the dolls worked to create other pieces, “The Fog”, inspired by the homonymous movie by John Carpenter, and “Play Infekt!”, sort of manifest of the Mechanical Generation. The most important performance happened in December the 9th at Sottosopra rock-zone, where MPD returned as openers for the legendary punk band G.B.H.
For the rest of the winter the dolls rest in silence, waiting for something to happen. In February MPD returned between the living for a new event, called “From the Grave to the Stage”, when they opened the live show of suiciDEATHome, an industrial gothic band, and Enkil’s Eye, an alternative rock band. The event took place in February the 24th at Country Star live Pub, where other fiends have the opportunity to join the dolls and see their always shocking show. In this occasion MPD presented their last work, “The Last Day Of Me” a crossover song, with some influences like grunge and atmosphere metal, never heard before.
Actually MPD is working at Giampi’s music studio, where can create other new pieces and improve the old. The latest work may could be called “Trick Or Treat?”, the expression used by children who go house by house to wish happy Halloween to families in America and U.K.
Where the dolls can be now? Maybe we’re under your bed or maybe we’ve just raped and killed your sister. Probably we’re dancing in a graveyard. The only certainty is that..
