About Me

Statutory&copyTHIS SITE BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE ANTI-AUKWURD SILENCE
COALITION
The band began as Mike Dyer and Mike Baer 3 years ago under the name of Subject To Authority. It was almost impossible to find members to join because of the lack of talent and varied instrument playing... everyone just seemed to play guitar. And because both Dyer and Baer are the guitarists, they didn't need any more (unless they are going to play Freebird of course) and no one in the school played bass at the time and the only drummer was already in a band of a whole different genre.
So they waited... and waited. Finally after a year and a half of waiting a glimmer of light appeared... and that just happend to be a drummer named Alex Stepanek. The Mike's were drawn to Alex mainly because of his influences are in the classic rock and hard rock genres. So then there was three. But then more waiting came. At that time they couldn't find any bassists that played their style of music. The wait got so bad that communication between the Mikes and Alex crumbled and they drifted to where Dyer and Baer weren't sure if Alex was still in the band or not. During this time they decided to change their name to Statutory, based of an inside joke between Dyer and one of his friends, who wishes to remain anonymous.
Then, at the end of their Junior year, their good friend Andrew Schill picked up a bass and joined them on their quest. Dyer, Baer, and Schill then got together and laid the groundwork for their first track. Baer couldn't make it to all of the practices, so Jordan Parish was brought in for the main rhythm guitar, but Baer was still allowed to jam with the band and was named the honorary webmaster.
A few weeks after the talent show (the first show they've played) Alex Stepanek decided to quit the band... or his girlfriend decided for him. Dan brought in his friend Jeff Kolega the drummer of the Omaha band, Awkward Silence (the good one). Jeff is an amazing drummer that is almost too good for the band. He makes us play better. They still have a long way to go, but they are determined to get there and they are also determined to kick Aukwurd Silence's ass on the way.
BREAKING NEWS!!!
As you may have seen on all the local news channels, Awkwurd Silence (The bad one) has broken up. As you, the loyal readers know, Statutory has been rivals to this bunch of vagabonds since it's formation. While we revel in this fact, we must legally state that we had nothing whatsoever with this, but just between us, we all know the truth.
Please take a minute to check out our songs!
