About Me
Babalu, or Nuno Lapa, since very early was involved with dance music. In 1995, with barely fifteen years, was already connected to a radio program of big audience, where new tendencies and musical styles were projected, and where was born one of the first incentives to the development of portuguese dance music. In the summer of 1999 he has the first contact with Extra Agency. It is then that he conquested a legion of fans that were aware of its actions and followed him. But it..s in 2000, with the residence at the Ultimatum Club, that gives excellent indications in the domain of the decks and in his musical choice, receiving invitations to show his work from north to south of Portugal. In the beginning of 2001 he involves himself in the "X Records" project, creating his own record music shop and accompanying the new musical tendencies. In the last months Babalu has divided his time between the bigger number of dj work and musical production, by what he recently released some of his tracks on Meridua Rec (PT), Afroboogie Rec (EAU), Magna Rec (PT), Bellarine Rec (AU) and Escuro Rec (USA). His recognized musical experience can be translated in the precision of the mixture and in the capacity of adaptation to the dancefloor, becoming each set a pleasant surprise. Because of that he..s one of the most requested and respected portuguese dj..s.
