About Me
Gabriel Angel Govea, a loving son, brother, uncle, friend and confidant to many, passed away from complications of late-stage Leukemia on June 29, 2006. He is survived by his family and many loving friends who all have lost a great young man from their lives.
Gabriel, or Gabe as he was mostly known to his close friends, was a person who always aspired to greater things, regardless of his current situation. He was the kind of person who would take the time to sit with you and talk about whatever you wanted to, no matter the subject matter. He was always interested in people and what they had to say, and it was felt by those who got the chance to talk to him.
Throughout his short time with us, he always gave more than was expected of him. He was very protective of his friends and family and would be the first to back you up when needed be. He was always there ready to make you laugh at the drop of a hat, and he did it with the full expectation of you laughing, too. He was a special person... and what few faults he had, those special little things about him always overshadowed the negative.
Gabriel will be missed by those who took the time to get to know him and care for him, as he showed all of us that he cared for us too and that we mattered to him. All of us who got the opportunity to have Gabriel in our lives have been blessed by his kindness and caring, and we should all take pride in knowing that we contributed to who he was as a person. Gabriel will be deeply missed and always loved by those of us who know the truth of who he truly was... someone who loved us and who we loved as well.
