About Me

Carnivale is a new regular friday night event at Velour bar, 121 flinders lane. The launch party and opening night is August the 29th. We've started this club because we feel that while melbourne has a great bar culture with lots of nice place to drink ad chat, places to get your dance on are few and fair between. We've got two floors of music, a great venue and drinks so cheap you'd think it was dallas bar.
Upstairs: DJ's play booty shaking beats, reggaeton, R'nB, dancehall, Afro and classic hiphop. Cabaret preformers, Dance acts and other talented indiviuals hit our showcase stage every hour, on the hour from 10pm. Doing short 10 minute routines reminicent of theatre intervals.
Downstairs: The nights starts off with at 8pm with a beginners swing dancing class and continues the rest of the night with live swing bands and acts. Come learn a few moves and then show them off on the dance floor. Social dancing is included in the cover, lessons are $15 which includes the nights cover.
Carnivale is a new night which aims to really raise the bar for dancing and performance based entertainment in the CBD. Because we're so new and no one has any idea where here yet, we'd love any one who likes the sounds of what we're doing to come along and bring a friend.
