About Me

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD OUR FULL LENGTH ALBUM "TO INSURE PROPER SERVICE" FOR FREE! The Album is compressed and WinRAR is needed to extractThoughtful, creative, and spirited, Tips reminds you why you wanted to start a band in the first place. Comprised of three inseparable friends, Tips' chemistry is its number one asset. Paying homage to the bands that have laid the ground work for the current sound of rock and roll while keeping it fresh and progressive, this band has a secret formula. Write catchy songs, enjoy playing them, and the people will listen. On their debut full-length album, "To Insure Proper Service", Tips combines playful youth with mature music theory. From upbeat numbers such as "Dirty Cat" and "Cars" to more laid-back tunes such as "Homesick" and "Smoke and Guns", this collection of tunes spans from the band's beginnings over 6 years ago in middle school. Tips sound is difficult to define, but if you took a dash of the indie rock sophistication of the Arcade Fire, a pinch of the Detroit garage rock sound, a bit of dance pop from OK Go, and a whole pile of youthful energy, you might be headed in the right direction. The simplicity of the band's three piece setup shines through in their live show. While many bands seek multiple musicians to fill out a sound, Tips provides a full sound while on stage. Having played over 50 shows at a variety of local venues, and capturing one county -wide and two high-school battle of the bands titles, the band has gained a very interactive and loyal fanbase who drives miles to each show to act as the fourth member of the band, singing, clapping, and generally getting jiggy with it (see "Smoke and Guns"). They've been spotted on stage with such bands as The Hard Lessons, Portugal The Man (Fearless Records), Mustard Plug, and many more.
