Tobias Karlsson

Hi, my name is Tobias Karlsson and I’m working as a guitar teacher in Sweden. However, my hometown is Borlänge. I teach classic guitar and rock, blues, heavy metal and some other related stuff. I’ve been studying classic guitar at “Landstingets Högre Musikskola”, nowadays called “Konservatoriet”, between –81 to –83. After that I went to the “Swedish royal college of music in Stockholm”, musician class, and studied classic guitar for about 4,5 year. That’s the old name for that school, nowadays we just say “Ackis” and I don’t know the proper English name for it. Anyway those who are interested in this kind of stuff here knows what I mean anyway. The Chaconne d-moll is a beautiful tune by J.S.Bach. I made this one when I was around 20 years old, around -85. It's one of the recordings I have with my self that I'm very proud of. It's recorded in one "cut" with an ordinary tape recorder and this piece of music is nearly thirteen minutes long, puh :-). The other "tunes" on the electric guitar is just demo's for pedals or "snippets" from work that I've done (music theatre etc)I always played rock, blues, slide, heavy metal guitar in my spare time but the classic guitar was my main instrument. I like a LOTS of different music, J.S.Bach and Hendrix is favourites among many others. I stopped practicing “for real” in the late 80’s. It was more fun with motorcycles. I bought a Harley and joined a biker club. In the early 90’s I rebuilt it to a chopper and it’s been like that ever since. The classic guitar sample here isn’t the best technical quality, but I don’t have any others as I never went to a studio. I also play in bands and perform only at biker clubs.This site is here mostly for friends and my students to visit and download whenever I put something interesting for them up. My classic guitar is a Jose’ Ramirez -77 My main amps are two Marshall Super Leads 100w with 4x12 cabs loaded with “greenbacks” One is from –69 and the other is –72. I’m not sure about the years but the main thing is that they are none mastervolume. As for guitars I prefer my strats. I’ve got some other as well but the strats always feels right to me.
