The story of Arnhem Maiden starts in the spring of 2004, when guitarist René Willems decided to start a new band in which he wanted to perform songs of his favorite band Iron Maiden. He asked his friend and former bandmember Ronald van Beveren to play bass, in which he acquiesced.With an ad on the internet they quickly found drummer Roel Steijvers, who played in several metal bands before and was looking for a new project to sink his teeth (and drumsticks!) in. The search for a second guitarist was a bit of problem. The guitarist they first hooked up with for some time, didnt quite fit in the band, so he had to be replaced as soon as possible. Luckily, they found a replacement quick, in the person of Edwin Tesselhoff, a metal expert. He too had played in other bands but was looking for something new.Now, the only thing they needed was a singer. Then Marije Meerdink came along, and she was exactly what the guys were looking for: an amazing voice, a great personality and experienced as well.And so Arnhem Maiden was born!
