About Me
Im a DJ and producer living in west London, and one of the Beat Hustlers collective along with Billy Whizz, Realm and EBK. I first started DJing on pirates in 1994, and have had resident shows for the last 10 years on various London stations, mostly alongside my old pals DJ Realm (now the Dub Pistols scratch DJ), and MC Diamond White, with legendary stations including Stevie A's Scandal FM, Ruud Awakening, Dance UK, Rude FM, Edge FM, Flex FM (me and Realm played the one d&b show on Flex for a good few years) and loads of others. I love my pirate radio! Though these days I'm turning up to shows with a thermos flask and Saga record bag.Currently playing on Mintvybe FM 99.5, www.mintvybe.co.uk, every Sunday afternoon 2-4pm. I play all sorts, from club classics to jungle to old skool hardcore to funky drum and bass to breaks. I'm on this station with my good mates and radio veterans Realm, Billy Whizz, Outlaw and Wize, Longman, Labby, LS and Paul Strobe and others. My speciality is mellow, chilled drum and bass, but they dont make it so much anymore. I've played at parties, clubs, events and bars all across London, the UK and Europe, including Amsterdam, Barcelona and a tour of Bulgaria alongside DJ Deekline (I worked for his Rat Records label for a while), and Damaja and Blacka, both now on Kool FM. I lived in Tenerife for a couple of years up to 1999 as a DJ and generally shady character - I was the (not-very-good) resident MC at a garage club called Escape, where I MC'd for likes of Stuart Mitchell, Dave Talbot, TC, Micky Simms, EZ and Jon Fernandez. After 2 years of drinking in the sunshine and generally causing trouble, I returned to London, and started playing on Flex. From there I began work on projects with artists such as Donna Dee, with whom I did a lot of work on her second album 'Breaks In The Heart', and we put out a vocal d&b track called 'Lukewarm', which Ed Solo did a version of too.I am currently producing breaks tracks with the Beat Hustlers. Myself and Billy Whizz recently finished a remix of my good mate Ils's blinding track 'Storm From The East' from his album 'Bohemia', with the highly talented and very amusing Wizard on the mix-down. We've got another Ils remix in the pipeline, and projects are lined up for Barry Ashworths Westway recs, including a track we're doing with NJ Fever from the NASTY Crew, another ex-Flex soldier and grime don. Outside of music and suchlike, I work full-time for FHM magazine, trying to look cool, and failing spectacularly. I am an occasional actor, and have been in a couple of short films, both with Donna Dee, and do a bit of voice-over work sometimes. I'm a gooner and get down to the Emirates as much as I can. Thanks for looking at my page, hope you like the tracks. Big love.Greg
