Wazzabi's debut EP 'A Bigger Form' was released October 2008. It is available digitally in 60 online musicstores including all Music Stores, portuguese musicaonline and Danish TDCWazzabi is a small band with a huge sound, a duo with the power of a truck and the musical flexibility to turn on a dime. The band often invitites guest vocalists and co-writers to join their musical playground on stage as well as in the studio, and often feature the haunting live visuals by VJ Anders Krøyer. Wazzabi enjoys a network of followers, partners and co-writers in Copenhagen, New York, São Paulo and Lisbon.The album features five tracks of Wazzabi with an international line of guests: 'Falta de Falta' with soaring Brazilian vocals by Carlos Zimbher (São Paulo, Brazil), intense funky new york rap on 'Listen' by MCs Dionysos & Stimulus (US) of The Real Live Show, 'A Bigger Form' and 'Amazed' featuring the profound spoken words by Jeffrey D. Jensen (DK/US) and 'Obsession' with the powerful and beautiful voice of Camille Jones (DK).Wazzabi's music is cinematic, a kaleidoscope of genres that testimony to Thor Madsen's and Anders Hentze's involvement with everything from free jazz over Brazilian music to progressive rock and club music. The 2 band members have toured and recorded with artists like Norah Jones, Wax Poetic, U-Roy (godfather of dub), Ndea Davenport (Brand New Heavies) & Camille Jones, played along side jazz men like Dewey Redman, Fred Hersch & Chris Cheek, turned the envelope on Nu-Jazz with the Nublu Crew and Erik Truffaz, sweated it out with NYC hip-hoppers The Real Live Show and delivered the music for Martin Scorsese’s lifetime achievement award ceremony at the Tribeca Filmfestival.Wazzabi's live shows are certainly big on impact. From gigs in São Paulo, New York and Berlin, over a three day Copenhagen Jazz Festival residence at Docken with various guests, sold out multimedia perfomances at a Copenhagen movie theatre featuring VJ Krøyer's haunting visuals, to concerts with author/performer Pablo Llambias and Camille Jones at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, and the spring 2009 club tours of Denmark and Portugal, the band creates a multi facetted universe beyond genres.Wazzabi is part of the artistic community around the New York club & label Nublu. The band has played there quite a lot making the tiny space rock out with friends like Kenny Wolleson, Jesse Murphy, Ilhan Ersahin, MC Stimulus and MC Dionysos joining them on stage.Labels and producers are discovering the qualities of the Wazzabi sound: Wazzabi recently remixed danish trip hop success Blue Foundation’s single “Eyes On Fire”. Five tracks on techno diva Camille Jones’ new album “Barking Up the Wrong Tree” are co-written and produced by Thor Madsen.
