So to begin this tour we'll start with a little biography about me. Here we go, try and stick with the group... and we're walking, we're walking...
My name is Shawn, I've got brown hair, grey eyes and am a bit soft around the middle.
Always on the look out for friends, companions, cohorts, co-conspirators, consociates, collaborators, compatriots, compeers, coadjutors and perhaps even a few myrmidons... you can simply never have enough myrmidons.
At 5 foot 7, I'm the tallest person in my immediate family. I'm convinced that we came to North America as a band of traveling circus midgets but so far no one is talking and I don't have any concrete proof...yet! It's probably just up on a shelf somewhere that we can't reach... *ahem* Anyway...
I spent the first 20 years of my life traveling around the world with my family. My parents worked for the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and as such, traveled extensively.
One of my fondest memories was when I was given an "Instamatic" type camera by my parents when I was just a few years old. I used to wander around taking pictures of everything from my feet to the carpet to the cats and just about anything else that happened to be in front of my camera at the time. Hey, I never said I was talented! Just that I liked to take pictures! I have a photography website up, www.pixilatedpixel.com Feel free to check it out.
I have been blessed with an incredibly wonderful, loving and inspiring family. My sense of wonderment, curiosity, determination and compassion are all thanks to them. The idiocy, well that's something that also runs in the family but I've been honing and polishing it to a fine art for a while now.
Originally born in Metairie, Louisiana, just outside of New Orleans. I spent the next two decades traveling to Ghana, Holland, Morocco, England, Barbados, Thailand and back to the US, Washington DC to be specific. These were the places I called home, went to school and made friends and did all the typical and not so typical kid stuff. I managed to lock myself in a suitcase once... don't ask.
While residing in these incredible places we also traveled to the surrounding countries quite often and thus I have developed a very wide and eclectic set of tastes in all aspects of my life.
I'll try pretty much anything at least once and usually several times if it feels good and no one is watching... uh anyway... I also love all kinds of music and foods.
I'm an average guy with two cats, kinda geeky and goofy at times with a penchant towards chivalry and hand holding. Currently single and seeking a girl with a strong desire to be cooked for, laughed with and snuggled mercilessly! I'm house trained...mostly, employed and know how to read the little washing labels on clothing. I can even iron! Yes, ladies I know... quite the catch eh? One at a time, one at a time! Careful with the hair! :P
I try to see the positive in everything and everyone. I have a uh... unique... yeah that's a good word for it... sense of humour as evidenced by this little inane diatribe I am writing here. I'm affectionate, curious, cuddly and sarcastic! All fine qualities in a virile, citified male!In truth, I just like having fun. Preferably with someone there alongside me to share in it.
In conclusion, I hope you had a good time during the tour... there are souvenirs, snacks, t-shirts and that freaky, crunchy "astronaut ice cream" stuff available in the gift shop for a nominal fee. Take some home for the kids!! If nothing else, hopefully this little tour into my head entertained you for a minute or two of your otherwise busy day.
If I've managed to make you smile, even a little, then I've done what I set out to do.Take care and have a wonder filled day!!
~Shawn~
