The idea of geppetto gestapo ("gG") was inspired by the devastating image of Bela Lugosi and his shadowy demeanor, repeating over and over into the lens, "pull the strings! pull the strings!"
It was this performance that inspired and led to the concoction of a music group based on a series of stories involving the likeness and person, Bela Lugosi, two brothers with different mothers in the suburban sprawl, a radio station in Oklahoma camo'd and wired to the mind of Bela deep into the nothingness of space, where sleep deprived, he reigns over our dimension of Earth, lost in his mind, a cancer upon his brain, an organ, a dream machine, the realization we are eaten in the absurdity of life, where racial tensions devour a civilization, where the homeless battle our wars in foreign lands then battle on in poverty in our galactic streets, where the elite dont mind stealing our thunder, our lives, sacrificing our dog breakfast of a brain to feed their flailing tongues, the sun monsters eating their souls as epic battalions of breaking beats beat until they red and gone, the heat, the fires of the cataclysmic battle for Earth written in the fog with the wind, the cinders speaking of a coming end, the father on his knees pleading to take him instead of is guns, the map locked into the belly of a preacher, hallucinations, and the final pod, thus carrying two lovers into a spiraling cosmos, and the ever lurking Galactus Eon Son waiting in the shadows to undo what he done. We are your subconscious memories of half written dreams, relevant ideas weaving and transformed into soundscapes. We want to make albums how we like albums to be made, a meditation from start to finish. no massive profits, no bailouts, no gimmicks, no flash bulbs, no faking, just realness, producing music for each other, so we can all connect to figure out this mess.
In 2009, we officially launch this project into the ears of the few to flip it into the many with our first offering, the Freebie EP. Free for you and for us to make! Remixes, original music, and previews of what to come. In July/August, we will then release Lost in the Fog, our first preview of specifically all our own material. These EP's are an introduction not only to the variety of sounds we covet but also a glimpse into the changes we have endured through this entire process of songwriting. We didn't ask to be born. We didn't ask for these tragedies. However, we have control over the here and now and how we express our love and dismay. It starts with each other. With purpose, with an earnest desire to contribute to the cosmos of artistic expression.
What started as a meeting of two brothers dealing with the demise of their cancer stricken father, now carries his soul through their and others passions for purity in art and approach. This Fall we drop Tales From Beyond the Galactic Fog, and in 2010, the Plans of the Planets.
