About Me

I started writing poems in Melbourne, Australia, when i was 14. Poems you dare to write only at the age of 14, about love and life and death... I tackled subjects then that I dare not now... wonder if I've grown wiser or just scared.
I guess I've been writing ever since.
So my story took me from Melbourne to Israel, through jazz lessons to the Israeli Army, a summer in Texas, a disease in my stomach and an apartment on Swanston street.
What you have on this page, is my solo project which I have been harboring silently up until last year. Sometimes you write a song, and it doesn't belong to a band, or a gig, its different, its part of your story. Over time I found myself collecting more and more of these songs. It took me time to work up the courage to tackle these melodies on my own, I have worked, written, recorded and preformed with various bands throughout my musical history, but I knew that this project I would have to do all by myself.
This is my tale to tell.
What started as a humble home recording project snowballed to something greater when a local Jazz label contacted me. A couple of months later I got my skeleton crew together and we should be hitting the stage soon.
Thank You.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: The Skeleton Crew is less like a band and more like an ever expanding collection of musicians who are nice enough to help me along the way on various projects these people include:Edward on Clarinet.Chris on Double Base.Daniel on Drums.Belinda on Vocals.Atalia on Vocals.Tim on Piano.Shai on Piano.Ido on Guitar.Sophie on Violin.Indiana on Violin.Miki on Clarinet.Thank you.
Influences: Anything I can get my hands on really... Grew up on Pearl Jam and SoundGarden, Alice in Chains, Jeff Buckley. Fiona Apple, Tom Waits, Rufus Wainright, Tom waits again (he's that good). Tori Amos, Tool, Mars Volta... hmm... Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Bobby McFerrin... this can go on for ever... Sting, Kurt Elling, Counting Crows, Dave Matthews Band, Maceo Parker, Bela Fleck ( and the flecktones )... System of a down, The Tea Party, Bjork... I'm gonna stop now... but there's so much more.
Sounds Like: When I was younger and living with my parents I used to practice my singing in my room. Every so often my Phone would ring, and I would answer it, to hear the voice of my dear father, calling me from the living room asking me if i was alright. To which I would respond every time that I'm fine, and why is he asking? Thats when he'd usually reply "Because it sounds like someone is beating you". After the first 40 times, it just wasn't that funny.
Type of Label: Major
