Music has never sounded as fresh and inspired than when Patrick Mocorro's voice is set loose around swirling guitars, distorted violins, and pulsing beats. His mixture of pop, folk, and electro is at times an artistic mess and at times seamless. Yet overall it is an ode to major music movements. It is easy to tell where his influences stem from; The Cure, Jeff Buckley, Depeche Mode, Madonna, David Bowie. And it is these influences that molded a new musical mind in telling familiar stories of heartache, lust, love, and abandonment to contemporary guitar rifts and orchestral swells. Patrick Mocorro is a refreshing take on many classic styles, but at its core, his honest lyrical content is what makes this music all his own.Patrick started his musical journey as a struggling actor and dancer. His talents took him all over the country; backup dancing for “pop” stars, Regional Theatre work. It was in acting where Patrick started honing his writing talents…turning prose into future lyrics and where he developed strength in singing. His love of music was always present, always surrounding him.Years later, Patrick was approached by Music Producers and Executives in Orlando, FL…. some connected to Lou Pearlman of N*Sync fame. Pounding away in recording studios, Patrick was exploring his “sound.” He tapped into his own personal musical loves to build a solid base in his own musical tapestries. In 2004, Patrick created his first EP. Club DJ’s in Miami, playing in local hot spots, remixed his original version of “Someday Soon”.Patrick has just truly begun walking down his musical path. Secured with a sound that is reminiscent David Bowie and Jeff Buckley, blended with beats Madonna would definitely appreciate, Patrick is set up for success.
