VELMA. convey influences ranging from energetic alternative rock to edgy New York post-punk. The band's full-on, rock n roll attitude and hi-octane vocal delivery have drawn comparisons with PJ Harvey and other performers of that ilk with their no-nonsense 'in-yer-face' guitar sound, quirky melodies which lodge themselves firmly in your brain, dynamic rock-solid rhythms, and delightfully skewed lyrics. All this sets Velma apart from their contemporaries and give them that elusive stamp of individuality. aTHUOC. originally from Poland now resident in Belfast present darkwave, emotional, powerful ambient rock with flowing atmospheric guitars and lyrics full of longing and desire. The bands first release on Audio-ill 'Psychedelic Romance' gives the listener an excellent introduction to the Thuoc ethos.
THE ROSENKRANZ. from Turin in Italy are the brainchild of singer/songwriter Martino Vergnano. After recieving early demos in 2006, and after much to and fro they finally hooked up with Audio-ill in April 2008. 'We Don't Care' is the bands first release through Audio-ill and showcases the bands talent for writing great pop songs.Drawing on influences from artists like The Beatles and Grant Lee Buffalo, to name but two, the songs have an innocent humour and depth carried on memorable hook lines and melodies gauranteed to resonate long after each listen. The Rosenkranz sound is a fusion of indie, low fi, pop and traditional folk topped off by an almost psychedelic approach to the vocal. This music will leave you smiling and wanting to hear more everytime.
