In 1980 a star was born. Born and raised in the rough streets of Philadelphia, and was given the name Tanya Marie Miller. Tanya mother knew she had given birth to a talented baby, not knowing one day her child would be part of music history.After Tanya began to talk, music notes flowed from her tongue. “At the age of three, her voice was too powerful for her age. Many people thought she was older and a lot of people thought she had a vocal coach, but she was born with it,” her mother says. Tanya began entering talent shows in elementary and by the time she entered middle school, she was writing her own music. She began writing hooks for local rap groups such as Ruggedness and Mad Drama, and The Fat Cat Clique. By the time Tanya reached high school (1994), she heard her first song on the radio titled, The Best One’s Yet,” which was a single from a group called Ruggedness and Mad Drama. Tanya wrote the hook to the single and also sung it; from that day on she knew music was embedded in her for life. Tanya’s mother would spend her last to send her out of town to work with major producers and artist. Although her mother stayed supportive, she also was worried of her daughter running into the wrong people. Tanya assured her, “One thing we can’t stop is God’s plan. If this is planned for me, than no man can stop what God has in store.”Tanya began to intern at Platinum Bound Studios, were a lot of up and coming artists’ from the Philadelphia area swarmed to. She began building a name for herself. It didn’t take a genius to see that this girl would one day be the next big thing. She was in many groups and even tried a solo career. Tanya even began to appear and try out for Showtime at the Apollo, American Idol, and Give me the Mic, but she slowly lost her urge to become an entertainer and decided that she’d rather be behind the scene.Tanya began to dedicate herself fully to writing songs and hooks for artist. Her name began to ring bells in “The City of Brotherly Love.” Family calls her Tanya, while many people call her Chameleon because she can imitate a million voices. Some call her Captain Hook, but she’s known to all as TEE MARIE. Many people that worked with Tee Marie loved her drive for music and her hunger for success. She have been blessed to work with producers Dre and Vidal (who worked with Usher, Music Soul Child, Fantasia, and many more), Lab Rats, Mama’s Boy Studio, Troy Taylor, Donvito, Soul Diggaz, Noise Trip, Saint Man, Teddy Bishop, Nobody, Matrax, Mike Boykins, Dominick McFadden and Phoe and many more. Tee Marie has written songs for Eva Avila (Sony Bmg) landed 1st single on her new album due to be release late October of 2008, V-Factory (Warner), Tiffany Affair (Warner), and up and coming artist HER, Nephu and Aryah.“It’s great to dream, because one person reaction could be a long line of chain reactions. Some people follow their dreams and some live their dreams through others. I don’t mind if someone lives their dream through me, but I pray they didn’t give up before they ruled out the possibilities. One thing I’ve learned through this journey is one persons’ dream could open doors for many people futures,” Tee Marie quotes.
