It's not so much hating kids as hating some of the things they do! They can drive the sanest person to extremes at times. It starts with the pre/early teen "attitude"... parents are just too stupid to live. And how dare we give them advice or sometimes even just talk to them? The teacher always hates them, gives too much work, won't explain anything... and yet they can flunk an open book test! Then comes the interest in the opposite sex and all civility and family loyalty that may have remained disappears. Every waking moment is given over to the newest bf/gf. Order of what's important in life: self, bf/gf, friends, older siblings, money/sports, tv/video games, absolutely nothing, dirt, chores, schoolwork, family. They need a ride home from school but "forget" to call and tell you they decided to go to a friends house instead. Or let you panic when they don't get off the bus because they "forgot" to tell you they were staying after. They've had a project assigned for weeks and the night before they "remember" to tell you they need poster board and have to stay up till midnight to get it done. Then "forget" it on their bedroom floor the next morning, along with their lunch $, and call and beg you to pleeeease bring it into school! Or "forget" that they were waiting for their little sister to come home and then they were supposed to babysit. Or forgetting to feed and water their snake. Or never putting their dirty clothes in a hamper to get washed. I could go on and on and on... they just drive me NUTS! And so "I hate kids"!
