My name is Tucker and I am twenty years old. I have a beautiful girlfriend named Tiffany who I love very much and friends I would bet my life on in hard times. I have been through some difficult situations in the recent past and I feel that every trial has contributed a lesson. I now carry these lessons as guiding principles in my daily life. I am strong willed, fiercely independent, and overtly sarcastic at highly inopportune moments. I am currently going to school for horticulture, and while I have never been the type of person to define myself with a career, it is obvious to anyone who really knows me that I can easily be described by my “love for plants”. Of course this is not my only defining attribute, or even the most prevalent one, but it is worthy of noting over any other because of its adverse affects on the other aspects of my life. It can no longer be defined simply as a college fad, but rather as a lifestyle choice that has shaped my outlook on life and provided me with a unique outlook on many topics most people give no more than a second thought. It has given me an appreciation of the small things in life, because life isn’t measured in moments, you can’t go crawling in and out of everyday hoping to reach that next ever looming goal. You have to slow down, to stop even, and take the time to feel the grass between your toes; to lie down and watch the clouds crawl across the sky; to watch windswept leaves in autumn and stop and smell the roses (or sniff the pungent scent of whichever plant you prefer) in spring. I don’t want to be remembered as an outstanding citizen, and I sure as fuck won’t be remembered for what bills I paid, or what credit card I had, or even if I paid my taxes. I am less than concerned with being a household name, as seems to be our generation’s ideal goal, and more concerned with being truly remembered for all of my quirks and flaws by each person that takes the time to get to know me and impact me in the same way. I want to be remembered as an amazing father, as a faithful and loving husband, a loyal and honest friend, and a strait forward and wise human being. I won’t count my success with every dollar in my 401k, because to place a dollar value on so many years of human history is a crying shame. I want every single god damn person at my funeral to be crying, not out of some vain need for the acceptance of the people close to me, but rather out of sincere hope that I made the effort in life to have a real heartfelt impact on every single person who would define themselves as close to me. After really sitting down to take a look at what matters in life, these are the values I hold in highest regard, and this is the person I will strive to be throughout my days.
