About Me

I'm a guitar player who plays a lot of styles, but jazz is my primary inspiration these days, and I mainly play electric when performing live. My background is in blues and rock, which comes through in my playing a lot. I originally started out on classical guitar, which I never had the discipline for, but I still love to play nylonstring fingerstyle. My nylon string music has elements of classical and folk music in it.I've been playing the guitar for more than 25 years in a variety of settings. These days I mainly work in my home studio, but I've played in lots of rock and blues bands, 5 years with a big band, done some theatre and studio work, released an independent CD plus published lots of my music on www.fingerprintsweb.net.My current ambition is to work on my own tunes and try to get them heard around the world!

Band Members: Just myself!
Influences: Lots of them! Allan Holdsworth has been a big influence on me, although I don't try to sound like him. My blues playing owes a lot to Robben Ford, I love the way he blends jazz and blues stuff. I love Chet Baker's trumpet playing (and singing!) Jan Johansson for the way he blends jazz, blues and folk music. Jan Garbarek's sax sound and compositions. NHØP for his great bass playing both as a leader and a sideman. Influences when I started out were Hendrix, Van Halen, Beck, Page, Clapton and all those cats. And everything from Elvis to the Beatles and Pink Floyd. (And I shamefully admit listening to "shred" back in the 80s.) And many many more...
