Dj Tavares plays a diverse and eclectic range of funky, twisted, deep and dirty grooves, his sets ranging from electro, freestyle club music, hip hop, rock, dance, vocal house, Latin house, funky tech-house, progressive house and techno.Dj Tavares has played along side nationally renowned guests such as, (hip hop & dance artist) Run Dmc, Rob Base, Lil Jon & the East side boyz, Redman & Method man, Ludacris, Usher, Amber, (freestyle club artist) Rockell, Lil Suzy, Collage, Pain, Denine, Sonia, Mic Mac Artist, Tazmania, Metropolitan, & Viper Records and Various artist through his career. Through the years he has reinvented the dance scene time & time again with his pioneering remix style of club turntablism.Dj Tavares is a true inventor of the mix form his energy is very well known all over Detroit and the Midwest. He has also played in many well known establishments : Legends night Club, Metro Music Café, The vault, Hot Rocks, the Ritz, the Palladium, City club, Saint Andrews, The Shelter Club, Club Divine, Club Extreme, Graffitis, US 12 night club, The Lab, River Rock night club. He was very successful in the Detroit rave scene and underground events, including Canada.In 2002, Dj Tavares appeared at the Annual Fiesta Mexicana in Downtown Detroit Mi, headlining along side with many other djs from the Detroit area to successfully perform a three day mix off session of old school club music and electro breaks to over many young and old party goers. And that same weekend Dj Tavares headed to the legendary Motor Lounge in Hamtramck Mi to the Sabor De Techno after party from the festival where the flavor he created consumed everyone on the dance floor till 5 am.Various djs, promoters and underground clubbers has recognized his contribution to the dance music scene over the years by selecting him as one of the top DJ's around the Midwest who keeps party goers moving forward with his creativity and style. He then strengthens his position by opening up 2 record stores in the Midwest called Downrivermixx Connection 1 & 2. And has a 30 vol. series of club mix cds that are mimicked by other djs till this day and for many years to come.He has mixed many club released CD's; Freestyle to Remember' the Fifth level CD, and the Life Prod. Series Volumes on Life Productions & Digital Fluxx records from 1990 to 2005 which featured many up and coming artist, several music collaborations between Dj Tavares and Detroit artist which featured remixes by different producers, like Dj marquis from New Flava Records & Dj Godfather from Twilight 76 records and from New York City, Artie Rodriguez a very well known Latin producer.
