About Me

With a tune that has been riding high in the Club Charts for 8 weeks, DJ/producer KosmetiQ is currently an unknown quantity. So who exactly is KosmetiQ?Better known on the club scene in the mid to late 90’s as Stevie D, he was one of the most respected and well-received DJ’s in the country. He began his musical career in 1993. In 1997 He promoted and was resident DJ for the Babushka Sunday Sessions. From those early beginnings, he went on to play a significant role in the introduction of UK Garage to Germany, hosting live national radio shows and DJ’ing around the country. Stevie then teamed up with Hyperactive distribution and was instrumental in the successful promotion of Kylie Minogue’s monster hit single ‘Spinning Around’ along with countless other hits including tracks by Jazzy M and Artful Dodger. During this period, he formed and developed the ‘Pornstars’ concept and DJ’d all over London and the UK. He then took the ‘Pornstar’s’ to Italy Playing @ the Yab Club hosting ‘House Italia’ one of the most successful club nights in the country. He toured Italy and hosted live shows on Radio 2000. In 2003, Stevie replaced the Stevie D tag with KosmetiQ and began production of his own compositions, later joining close friend and producer Dropkick to create Spilt Coffee in 2004. This collaboration produced “Heavy Shoulders”, the enduring dance floor classic. He also went on to create the Phizzle Punk Nights With Friend Liz Mendez. These are unique insofar as they incorporate live acts melded with music from the decks. These events have proved to be an immensely popular antidote to the ‘standard’ club night and are now widely copied around the world. After composing and producing his own album ‘Elektric Red’, KosmetiQ was approached by Sony/BMG to remix Pink’s ‘U & UR Hand’, Almerie’s ‘1 Thing’ and Super Jupiter’s ‘You Know’, which topped out at 4 in the UK singles chart. Kosmetiq now owns his own record label Qritikal Records With Business partner David Self . Kosmetiq is also Working With Long term Friend Mr Frankie Foncett (City Heat Vol 1 to 10) & is Also a production half of DETAIL With David James (Audio Drive) & Also Writing With Simon Lawrence under the alias Blu-Print.... ALSO The Fabulous Miss Kelly Marie (Hed Kandi / High on Heals) AND Remixes For Sonique... Genre: Electronic Baby!KOSMETIQ The Elektric Red Album.Combining drums and 8 bit glitches together to make intricate Drum sequences is what gives KosmetiQ the edge to push the heavy baselines in his music.Mixing various Moog modules with unison, tight compression and layered patterns is how he achieves the phatt but bouncy bass melodies. From Simonne Cooper's sexy lyrics about a computer geek and Maria Angeli's quirky view on Modern-Life, to Nynn's spaced-out Camera 64 and Brucie Boy's classic 70's rock guitar.'Elektric Red' paints a somewhat different picture on how people look at life today.KosmetiQ was born in the mid seventies, so growing up through the eighties has had a huge impact on his music today.Using synths like the ARP2600, MiniMoog, Moog Modular, various Korgs and the Pro 53 has all helped to create that 80s feel. THIS ALBUM IS AVAILABLE ON I-TUNES & ANY OTHER MAJOR DIGITAL SITES..
