About Me

After playing metal for the majority of his professional life, Chas decided that metal alone would not feed his musical appetite completely. Since beginning playing, he has always branched out to other types of music, while still retaining a unique sound throughout. One form of music that had interested him from the start was acoustic. While he had hoped to pursue this musical avenue as long as he can remember, he never did because of his time spent building Fevered Dreams into the hulking mass it is now. In late 2005, however, he finally did take the first step to achieving his acoustic goal with the formation of Angelic to Ashes. From the start Angelic to Ashes was a way to blend animosity in his personal life to something beautiful musically. He knew that the line up would consist of mostly metal musicians with a classically trained string player. It is this blend that truly gives Angelic to Ashes its unique sound and fill. He quickly recruited Jesse from a local metal band named Headtr.i.p. and Paul Sterling on Bass, a long time friend and bassist for the former prog rock band Graves End. For the strings he brought in Dragon Sommerville, she had been a promoter for Metal In Motion & Fevered Dreams previously and a good friend to the band. Josh Hourselt who, above all is known for his quality sound production and former Ugly Stick and Illusory Veil vocalist. And last but certainly not least, a soulful element was needed to round out the group, Jellybean was selected to add vocals, a close friend that was waiting for the right opportunity to return to music. This eclectic group of individuals shows what kind of magic can truly be achieved when the work is put in.
