About Me
Front man, Peter Benson, was born and raised in a small town in southern Wisconsin. He started piano lessons at the age of five, and continued until the age of twelve, when he began taking guitar lessons. The first concert he remembers was of a local folk musician, Karen Johnson, who performed at a church fair. Later that year he borrowed his uncle's Bob Dylan, Neil Young, James Taylor, and Cat Stevens albums. He then engulfed himself in folk music and soon enough he could play "Heart of Gold", "Mr. Tambourine Man", and "The First Cut is the Deepest".By the time he was 14 he developed a band out of family, friends, and his hippie-mentor-guitar teacher Miss Eileen. They chose the appropriate name "The Long Lost Friends". By the time he was 15 they had performed twice at a local church fair, showcasing beautiful harmonies, guitar work, and bass guitar. During this time he also started playing with multiple church worship groups.Between the ages of 13 and 17 he witnessed live performances from many bands, which sparked his interest: Styx, Bon Jovi, Goo Goo Dolls, Keith Urban, Lonestar, Arlo Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot, the Foo Fighters, Mountain Lions International, and Natty Nation. He has recorded at multiple home studios, the major one being his own. He first ran his home studio off of the standard software that comes with a Dell computer. He is currently running his home studio with a Tascam recording unit, which he calls "Dead Poets' Studio". He is currently finishing his debut album "Horses in the Country", which experiments with all of his musical tastes- industrial, grunge, folk, country, and jazz.He is 19 years old and is attending college, majoring in secondary English education. He continues to perform, write, and record.
