About Me

..Get Your Own! | View Slideshow8 THINGS I TRY TO AVOID!! 1)OSU fans or alumni!!! (just kidding) :-) I don't mind them as long as they aren't crazy. :-) GO SOONERS!! 2)Drinkers or Smokers (I won't be involved with a woman who does either) 3)Foods I can't spell and have never tried before. 4)I'm not big on most hard candy. 5)Most seafood (other than shrimp!!) 6)Snakes, mice, and spiders (I don't like them at all, but I could probably get rid of them if I had to.) 7)Anyone who's a bad influence. 8)Sometimes saying what's on my mind (it can get me in trouble from time to time)I was born in Kansas City MO, but moved to Edmond Oklahoma at a young age and I still live in the OKC area today. Shortly after high school my family moved back to KC. At the age of 20 I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and began serving in my church shortly after. I have had the opportunity to travel all over the country and even the world in my life, but I would like to do it more. I spent 2 weeks in Europe in places like Italy, France, and England. That was a very difficult trip for me at the time so I didn't really enjoy it. Taking a trip out of the country and leaving someone you care about back home for 2 weeks is never easy. Next time I go I'm going to take someone I care about with me instead. :-) I've also been to Mexico twice. Once on a missions trip to Monterey and then again on a luxury cruise to Cozmel. I've also been on a cruise to the Bahamas and trips to Las Vegas and (my personal favorite) Jackson Hole Wyoming. If you ever get a chance you should go. It's a beautiful little town surrounded by mountains. I now live a pretty quiet life since most all my friends are married with kids, but I know that I will be there too some day (let's keep our fingures crossed).I am also a deacon and music minister at a small independent baptist church in Edmond Oklahoma called Edmond Road Baptist Church where I'm waiting on God to reveal His next step in my life.

My Interests

Visit my chuch home at: www.my-erbc.comI love music, singing, and serving God. I am currently serving as a deacon and music minister at my home church in Edmond. I have decided my life would best be fit serving God and plan on doing it until it ends. The only question is what God will have me do. Until He gives me a different direction I will continue serving him in music and doing anything else I can to help. I feel you can tell a lot about a person by the kinds of music they listen to. I also love most all sports, but I don't allow it to control my life as I once did when I was younger. I am especially into baseball, basketball, and football and still try and play when I get a chance. I am a big OU Football fan!! :-)I did at one time consider going into massage therapy when I was younger because I've been told that I had a gift. Now that's something I can use for someone special later in life. :)

I'd like to meet:

.. I'm assuming you mean other than a nice pretty young saved born again Christian woman who loves kids, has the same beliefs as me, has a desire to serve Christ, but can also put up with me. :) I know, I might as well be in search of a unicorn. jk ;-)I also look forward to meeting the apostle Paul one day. It's amazing to read about a man with such a love and zeal for what he believes in.I have AIM if anyone ever wants to chat my sn is jdb09041978
Would you consider yourself a romantic? I would consider myself a hopeless romantic.
Would you give flowers or candy? It all depends, but probably flowers more than candy depending on the situation.
Do you believe in love at first sight? Not love, but attraction
Would you rather walk on the beach or go star gazing? I'd say lets do both....star gaze as we walk on the beach. I love both.
Soft kiss or a gentle hug? Depends on the situation
How often would you watch a romantic movie with you girlfriend or boyfriend? Probably as much as she wants. I like chick flicks. :-)
Fancy restaurant or lunch in the park? Lunch in the park. More personal
Snuggle on the couch or go to the movies? Snuggle on the couch. More personal...good quality time together
Would you rather give a backrub or get a backrub? I do like getting them, but I would probably rather make her happy. :-) And I'm told I'm pretty good.
Do you like to cook? Not usually, but I try every once and a while
What's your favorite thing about being in love? Being able to hold someone I care about and have them do the same.
Guys only:
Do you open doors? I always open doors if it doesn't make someone feel awkward. I consider myself a gentleman aside from my occassional sarcastic remarks. :-)
More important: Anniversary or Superbowl? Anniversary for sure, but who in their right mind would schedule their wedding the same weekend that the Superbowl usually falls on? :-)

Music:

I like most contemporary Christian music, but I also like the old hymns. I am the music director at the little baptist church in Edmond that I belong to. I do also like some 80's music, classical music, country music, and even oldies. I play the guitar, and I have a piano that at times I attempt to play.

Movies:

I like most all kinds of movies other than gore. Yes, I even like so called "chick flicks", and I always catch slack from my friends because of it. I do own movies like "Pride & Prejudice". I am a hopeless romantic and I like to believe that the kind of love seen in movies really does exist. Who cares if it's a little cheesy! Don't get me wrong though. I do also like action movies and a good drama as long as they don't get carried away with a bunch of foul language and sex. You always have to be careful about what you let into your head.

Television:

I like tv show dramas, comedies, and sports. I watch things like Baseball tonight, Heroes, House, and things of that sort. I'm not big on most reality tv shows though. I am also going to say I love Prison Break to support my cousin. She used to be on the show so I've grown an interest in it. Either way I love my cousin and she's an amazing actress. :)

Books:

I have 66 books that I really like, but I'm not going to name them all. I will tell you who wrote them and where you can find them if you ever want to check into them. They are all written by God and you can find them in the BIBLE! :) I use the KJV bible. Although some people find the KJV difficult to read, I feel it's the most accurate version for English speaking people. I also like most of Tony Evans' books. I like the way he relates things to our lives by using good biblical application. I also really enjoyed "The Five Love Languages" books. They help you to understand why people act and react the way they do.

Heroes:

Growing up my hero was George Brett. He played 3rd base for the KC Royals when I was a kid. That's why I wore #5 and played 3rd in high school. I also really admire Stephen (see Acts 7) Then of course there's Jesus Christ. Jesus said in John 15:13 "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends"
