Simon Ham & Matt Juckes first met way back in 89. They had more in common than just matching mullets , tartan slip on's and collecting trollies in a supermarket ! They both had the same smell for funk and both had the Drive for Live!! Matt had a family and got into experimental projects, world music and then toured Europe & Canada with an Arabic band . Simon got lowdown and dirty searching for obscure and rare vinyl for samples, beats & breaks, which evidently he found!! As fate had it their paths crossed once again in 2003 and Ch3vy was born, a project they talked about doing for years, combining old skool hip hop, jazz, funk, heavy beats, pungent bass lines, samples & serious playing, putting all their influences into a pot , stirring it up and serving it with a doorstep of wholegrain funk. And now look what's happened, they've only gone and done it, Hot Diggity.After the success of Ch3vy's dynamite funk seven "Blue Boogaloo",the time has come to go live. Matt Juckes from Ch3vy is heading up "The Ch3vy Band" project. With props from Dr Rubberfunk, Aldo Vanucci, Tombee, Dom Servini & Mysti from GLC, it is looking to be Ch3vy's finest mixtape to date. It's rammed with Ch3vy's taste of heavy weight funk & humour.
