.. Passion for reading and writing has always been at the heart of this Oakland, California native. It wasn’t until the late 1990’s, after a string of promises and unfinished short stories, did Suzetta decide to pick up a pen and pursue her dream of writing a novel. The mother of two grown children and one granddaughter, Suzetta resides in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She is Secretary of the University at Fayetteville State University, which is also her alma mater. She has a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration.Suzetta's desire to write was further stimulated by attending various literary retreats and workshops across the country. As co-founder and president of the Sistahs Book Club since 1999, she found herself networking with authors she met who on occasion became guests at her book club meetings and in her home. Many of these authors have given Suzetta literary advice unselfishly and helped direct her on the path she finds herself today.Suzetta's writing experience dates back to her senior year in high school. Her first published work appeared in the school yearbook of which she was co-editor. In recent years, she has written several pieces for RISE, a local neighborhood newspaper and was the editor for two years of the Fayetteville State University Staff Newsletter. Suzetta has also written several short stories. Her greatest accomplishment to-date is her first full-length work of fiction, Behind the Veil, and a second completed novel tentatively entitled A Love So Deep. She is also a contributing author of My Soul to His Spirit, an anthology of short stories that was featured in the June 2005 issue of Ebony magazine and winner of the 2006 Fresh Voices Award.
