I am a doll that was launched by Hasbro in 1965 and soon discontinued after, known for freaking people out and being accused of demonic possession, I still found the warmth in the arms of a few little girls. I was given a brown burlap dress with two patches to wear, and a large plastic removable tear streams from my left eye (nice huh? and then put me on a shelf to for sale, right, no wonder I lasted a whole year). Anyway, my right hand stretches out plaintively, begging for -- something but I am not sure what - I just know I need something? A coin? A sandwich? People say I am a mystery and can't understand why Hasbro would put me on the market. What was it about little girls back then - were they becoming too barbiefide.I am told that today I can bring a pretty penny if I am found new in my original box, with “original tear” and burlap dress, undies and headband. Funny how people that use to hate me now want me because my value has gone up!I don't feel sorry for people that want me and can't find me. I have through enough over the years. Being rejected by shallow little girls in 1965, who expected a Barbie or other glamorous toy, opening me and finding it a “downer” gift from Santa. Hasbro didn't create a family to go along with me or friends like Barbie I have to find and make my own. They didn't even give me shoes but rather Fred Flinstone feet - wow, thanks. I can stands on my own two bare feet and I am about fifteen inches tall - my growth was stunted - no food or love, hence my stomach protrudes.The Little Girls that bought and loved me - loved me in secret because they knew we would never be accepted or asked to play dolls or to a tea party.But you know what? Those that can love me I know are better people much more giving and compassionate than those that can see past my scruffy appearance.
