Their respect for the craft of writing and producing their own music has enabled them to create a developed and unique style all their own. Inspired by the affect music has on our lives, each of them fell in love with the art at an early age. Growing up, both were influenced by the soulful icons of the 70..s, the timeless groups of the 80..s, and the R&B legends of the 90..s. Molded by the melodies of the past, each member set out to become an addition to the greatness they so much admired.Through various talent shows and open mic performances, these men have been singing their hearts out at an early age. Veterans of the setbacks and pitfalls with different singing groups, destiny itself has allowed the two to cross paths at Northern Illinois University. Here, the songwriter and producer decided to combine their individual creative talents to form the self-contained group: Montà j.
