Ones destiny cannot be denied, regardless of the path that is taken. Often times the realization of ones destiny is a time consuming, difficult journey in search of greatness. God given talent can not be denied. Time is the only element that dictates when destiny will come to pass, and for Rich McMichael his time is now. Rich McMichael has been singing since the age of three. His parents Rev. Richard McMichael Sr. and Min. Charlene McMichael recognized his gifted one day while he was singing, “yes Jesus loves me” in the bathroom. He began singing in his own church and the news spread of the little boy with the anointed voice. It was not long before Rich was singing for churches through out the city and across the East Coast. By the time he was in grade school, he was developing harmonies, and finding inspiration through a range of artists, including Donnie Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Kim Burrell, Fred Hammond, and Darryl Coley. At eleven years old he was accepted into the Gifted and Talented program at Robert Goddard Middle School, and the New York City Boys Choir. He was featured in a Christian Musical at the Billie Holiday Theatre at thirteen years of age. Rich has performed in many Talent Showcases and Open Mic reviews at venues such as the Village Underground, The Soul Café, and Ashford and Simpson’s Sugar Bar. Rich was blessed to sing with Mr. Wynton Marsalis and LeChateau for President Barack Obama's Inauguration Concert. Rich has also opened up for noted recording artists such as Mary Mary and Tye Tribbett. He was a finalist in the "Making the Band 4" NY competitions. He has appeared on “Showtime at the Apollo,” and won in his category at the McDonald’s Gospel Fest 2003. He is a graduate of the Music Academy at Bayside High School and attended Queens Borough CC for Music Engineering. This singer, songwriter, and composer has a unique blend of inspirational, R&B, pop, and rock sound in his music that has dazzled audiences every time he blesses the Mic. Rich is the oldest of 6 children. He has three brothers and two sisters. His parents taught him at a young age the value of hard work and endurance. His mother reminds him constantly that God has blessed him with a gift to share with the world, and if he puts God first, all his dreams will come to pass. His ambition is to become a recording star whose music will touch the world. It is his dream. It is his destiny.
