Snake the Great started performing at the age of 7 in local talent shows. He also participated in numerous other activites throughout his school days such as step shows, and sports. He was first heard outside of his area battling on Hot 106's who got the flavor in Albany, Ga where he won 16 days straight. That is where he caught the ear of a local producer Mario Meadows, who help utilize his vocals better. Alongside Mr. Meadows, He recorded the theme song to the 2005 Dirty South Awards. Later, he recorded the Controlled Substance album with the help of Backwood production which consists of T.C, Ryan, Trea and Mr. Meadows.
